The country conducts thorough preparations for the start of the new academic year every year. This process is of great importance for increasing the interest and desire of the younger generation to acquire knowledge.
As part of a press tour organized by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, events related to preparations for the new academic year were presented, as well as the process of delivering the 'President's Gift' to first-grade students to members of the media.
During the event, in the presence of media representatives, a ceremony was held for sending off the 'President's Gift' convoy, which includes 12 types of educational materials intended for first-grade students and was organized by the 'Supply and Logistics Services' enterprise under the ministry.
Following this, detailed information was provided about the preparations for the new academic year and the process of admitting first-graders at the example general education school No. 202, located in the Chilonzor district of Tashkent city.
It was emphasized that in the 2026–2027 academic year, it is expected that over 6.7 million students will be educated in 10,225 general education schools across the country, including more than 550 thousand teachers.
It is planned to admit over 795 thousand children into the first grade. As of August 5 of the current year, 680 thousand children have been admitted to the first grade, which accounts for 85 percent of the plan. The 'President's Gift', consisting of 12 types of educational materials, has been prepared for these first-graders.
Currently, the ministry has begun delivering these educational materials to schools across the country. These materials will be fully delivered to all schools by August 15 of the current year, and to the schools where students have been admitted, by August 25.
The educational materials prepared as the 'President's Gift' will be solemnly handed over to first-graders after the 'First Bell' events. Additionally, they will be provided to first-graders studying in private schools, as well as in educational institutions under the jurisdiction of other ministries and agencies.
To ensure the timely provision of the 'President's Gift' to every first-grader, a list of children in schools was compiled through the ministry's electronic platform adm.maktab.uz. This list included students from both private schools and educational institutions under the jurisdiction of other ministries.
During the media tour, a collection of textbooks prepared for first-graders was also presented. Specialists provided detailed information about the unique features, content, and significance of the new textbooks in the educational process.
At general education school No. 202 in the Chilonzor district, where the media tour took place, it is planned to educate over 1260 students in the new academic year, of whom 175 will be admitted to the first grade.
The school has created inclusive classes to attract children with special educational needs into the learning process. A 'barrier-free environment' has been created for them, meeting all necessary conditions. Currently, 13 children are studying in inclusive classes at the school, two of whom were admitted to the first grade in the current academic year.
