International conference on food safety and palm oil innovations held in Tashkent

An important innovation is being implemented in the country aimed at supporting segments of the population requiring social protection, as well as promoting domestic tourism. This new system not only simplifies the use of transport services but also expands opportunities to travel to the country's historical, cultural, and natural attractions.

According to the new procedure, citizens belonging to 11 categories (including veterans of combat operations of Group I and II and their equivalents, single pensioners, persons requiring care, orphans, children left without parental care, as well as other citizens entitled to free or discounted transport in accordance with current legislation) can use air travel, railway, and intercity passenger transport services free of charge or with a 50 percent discount.

A key feature of the new system is the complete digitalization of the benefits application process. The practice of paper vouchers is abolished; the citizen's right to a benefit is automatically confirmed in the 'Unified National Social Protection' information system via an ID card or biometric passport. This helps eliminate excessive bureaucracy, speed up service provision, and ensure transparency.

This innovation is of great importance for the development of domestic tourism. Thanks to subsidized transport services, citizens in need of social support gain more convenient conditions for trips to historical cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabz, Termiz, as well as to mountain and resort areas, including the Fergana Valley.

According to experts, expanding citizens' travel opportunities will positively affect not only a deeper acquaintance with cultural heritage but also the activation of the domestic tourism market, the development of regional services, and the creation of new jobs.

Another important change is the plan to introduce the possibility of online purchase of discounted tickets through the 'Baraka' social card mobile application starting from 2027. This digital solution will further simplify the use of transport services and will be a logical continuation of the process of digitizing public services.

Thus, modern digital mechanisms being introduced in the transport sector contribute to increasing convenience for the population and help realize the goals of the 'Travel around Uzbekistan!' program initiated by the President, allowing for more effective utilization of the country's tourism potential and elevating domestic tourism to a new level.

Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov told the publication 'Ukrainska Pravda' in an interview that his removal from office was a consequence of reforms initiated in the field of military procurement.

Reasons for Departure and Reforms

Fedorov noted that initiatives to introduce a tender system and update management within military procurement faced opposition from some officials. This led to increased pressure on him. According to the former minister, the main goal of these changes is to make military procurements more transparent and open.

Furthermore, the formation of a new management structure in the Ministry of Defense is planned. Fedorov believes that the drive for change caused dissatisfaction among interested circles, which provoked a negative atmosphere around him both in the Presidential circle and in the media space.

Change in Leadership and Disagreements

The parliament was notified about Fedorov's dismissal approximately an hour before the session. Evgeny Khmara, head of the security service, was appointed to replace him. At the same time, the head of the government, Yulia Svyrydenko, also left the government cabinet.

Previously, the President had pointed to disagreements between the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. However, Fedorov himself emphasized that there were no personal conflicts. He clarified that the main divergence concerned the approach to conducting the war, and added that the Ministry of Defense had never obstructed the decisions of the Staff or the Commander-in-Chief.

Work in the Jondor Mahalla

Systematic work is being carried out in the 'Qozikent' mahalla of the Jondor district of Bukhara region to provide social support to the population, targeted assistance to needy families, as well as care for people with disabilities and lonely elderly people. This mahalla has 3375 residents, and social worker Salohiddin Bahridinov carries out his activities based on the principle of individual work with every needy citizen. This approach allows for studying the needs of each person and providing them with appropriate social services.

Support for People with Disabilities

Currently, there are 80 people with disabilities living in the mahalla. Four of them have been involved in adaptive sports classes, which has given them the opportunity to participate in physical activity and social life. In addition, 14 citizens have been employed, and suitable conditions have been created for their independent living. Also, 33 needy people have received orthopedic prosthetics and technical rehabilitation aids.

Social Assistance for the Elderly

Elderly people living alone are also under the attention of the state and society. Currently, three lonely elderly people are under constant social protection. As part of the 'Step to Active Life' program, household and social services are regularly provided at home to five citizens who need care from others.

Example of Targeted Assistance

The results of these good deeds are clearly demonstrated by the example of Tamara Zulfikorova, who lives with her sister Norgul Boboyeva. The mahalla social worker added Tamara to the register of lonely elderly people and launched a targeted assistance system. This assistance included referral to a sanatorium for health recovery, medical examination, free provision of necessary medicines, and allocation of financial aid. Additionally, within the framework of the 'Step to Active Life' program, home-based domestic support was organized. One-time financial aid was provided on the occasion of the autumn-winter period and the Ramadan holiday, and regular compensation payments are made on time.

Improving Living Conditions

An important moment was the installation of a modern solar panel in this house at the initiative of sponsors. This not only helps reduce electricity costs but also improves the family's living conditions. Such practical help is not just material support, but a vivid example of attention, love, and care for a person.

The work being done in the 'Qozikent' mahalla today once again confirms the truth: in a society where people are valued, no one is left without attention. Obtaining information about the condition of every needy person, listening to their problems, and finding practical solutions has become a way of life in the mahalla. Good deeds in the 'Qozikent' mahalla are another bright proof that the interests of the individual have become the main measure of all reforms in New Uzbekistan. These charitable initiatives, based on the principle 'For the Value of Man' put forward by the head of state, strengthen the atmosphere of compassion, solidarity, and social justice in society. Most importantly, such endeavors strengthen citizens' faith in a better future, demonstrating in practice that no one is alone, and the state and society are always there for them.
