The president of the Turkish club FC Trabzonspor, Ertuğrul Doğan, gave his first comments after the deal with Egyptian international player Mohamed Salah was finalized. The discussion concerned a potential free transfer during the current summer transfer window.
On Wednesday, Doğan told the Turkish newspaper Fanatik: 'We cannot talk about Mohamed Salah; he is a global star. We needed a player like him.'
He continued, noting that such an acquisition would be magnificent. 'We hope he will be useful to our club. Trabzonspor's successes are attracting attention throughout Turkey and Europe, and young players have started choosing our club.'
Doğan emphasized that the club aims to demonstrate to everyone the possibility of attracting any player to its team. Regarding the negotiations with Salah, he stated: 'We rushed to complete the deal as soon as other teams declined. I held a meeting with Mohamed Salah and his agent. It was a very professional and respectful meeting; both sides understood each other, and there were no difficulties.'
He also added that their meeting lasted about ten days, and all details became clear yesterday.

However, Doğan told the Turkish channel Aspor that despite numerous reports of reaching an agreement with Mohamed Salah, this has not yet happened. He added that if a deal is concluded, he will definitely announce it to the fans and all media outlets.
He also expressed hope for Salah's signing, emphasizing his commitment to the interests of Trabzonspor. It is worth noting that the Egyptian star left Liverpool FC at the end of last season after nine years of service to the 'Reds'.
