Candidate woman Archana has started an indefinite hunger strike at the Jaispal Singh sports complex in Ranchi, protesting against rigging in the JPSC and JSSC examinations. She stated that despite eight years of preparation and passing four exams, each time it was discovered that the exams were compromised.
Archana recounted that as a girl who fought with her family for education, she carried a double responsibility. She prepared day and night since 2018, but her determination was undermined by the fact that after each of the four exams she passed, it turned out the exam had been sold.
According to Archana, her academic journey is as follows: she began basic preparation in 2018. During the COVID pandemic in 2021, she studied for 10 hours a day in one room at home. The first major blow came in 2024 when the first major exam fell victim to cheating and violations.
Despite this, Archana did not give up and passed four major exams in 2025: for the post of Forest Range Officer, Assistant Conservator of Forest, the 14th JPSC, and the JPSC Backlog exam. However, in each case, the situation repeated—information leaks, cheating, or some other violation.
Archana emphasized that girls study by accepting any conditions, and eight years is a significant period. But she questions the value of her work when the system itself is corrupt. She stated that since the government assumes girls will back down, she is starting a hunger strike, refusing food and water, and promises not to retreat until justice is achieved.
In Archana's view, girls make efforts, but their work becomes useless in a corrupt system. She intends to remain on strike until justice is served, and this movement has become the voice of thousands of struggling female students.
