Uzbekistan's representative, Kamilla Rahimova, continues her successful participation in the prestigious WTA 1000 category tournament, the 'National Bank Open Presented by Rogers,' taking place in Toronto, Canada.
She advanced to the third round of the competition after defeating experienced Czech tennis player Kateřina Sinyková in the second stage. The match between Rahimova and Sinyková was marked by intense competition.
The first set ended in favor of her opponent with a score of 6:7(1) in a tie-break. However, in the second set, the Uzbek tennis player achieved a convincing victory with a score of 6:0. In the decisive third set, when the score reached 5:2, Sinyková could not continue playing due to an injury, and the victory was awarded to Kamilla Rahimova.
Now, Kamilla Rahimova will take to the court in the third round against Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, who is ranked 21st in the WTA rankings. This match is expected to be one of the most serious tests for the Uzbek athlete at this tournament.
