The district administrative body has taken serious measures against private educational institutions in Gautam Buddh Nagar due to arbitrary fee increases. At the meeting of the District Fee Regulation Commission, chaired by the District Magistrate, a fine of one hundred thousand rupees was imposed on each of the seven private schools that violated the rules of the Fee Regulation Act.
During the meeting, an inspection of the fee hike set by private schools for the academic year 2026-27 was conducted. It was found that six schools increased fees beyond the stipulated limit of 7.23 percent, while one school charged an additional annual fee in addition to the composite fee.
The commission reported that 45 notices had previously been issued to ensure compliance with the rules. Nevertheless, seven schools violated the Uttar Pradesh Private Self-Governing Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act of 2018.
Among the schools fined one hundred thousand rupees are APJ School, Sector-16, Noida; Sparsh Global School, Sector-20, Greater Noida West; Ramagya School, Sector-50, Noida; Vishwa Bharati School, Sector-28, Noida; Shri Chaitanya Techno School, Gaur City, Greater Noida; St. John's School, Sector-2, Greater Noida; and Bal Bharti Public School, Sector-21, Noida.
According to the administration, the fee increase for the academic year 2026-27 should not exceed 7.23 percent, and any increase above this limit is illegal. Furthermore, Bal Bharti Public School was fined one hundred thousand rupees for failing to upload the fee structure for the academic year 2025-26 to its website and for charging an additional annual fee beyond the composite fee. The district administration instructed all private schools to strictly adhere to the Fee Regulation Act.
