Sundram Fasteners, a manufacturer of automotive components, reported a 20% increase in revenue in the first financial quarter of 2027. Additionally, the company has planned new investments to expand production capacities in the automotive, aerospace, wind energy, and defense sectors.
The large auto parts manufacturer, Sundram Fasteners, demonstrated a consolidated net profit of 168.69 crore rupees for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This figure exceeds the 147.94 crore rupees recorded during the same period last year. Consolidated operating revenue for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, amounted to 1,846.07 crore rupees, compared to 1,533.39 crore rupees a year earlier, reflecting a 20% growth. Earnings Per Share (EPS) for this quarter reached 8.01 rupees.
Arati Krishna, Managing Director of Sundram Fasteners Ltd, noted that the company began the new fiscal year in a strong position due to improved business conditions in key markets and sustained customer support. Despite the dynamic global environment, the company's management welcomes the stable recovery in export demand and the continued resilience of the domestic market.
Investment Plans
To ensure long-term growth, the company has allocated capital expenditure of 400 crore rupees for capacity expansion initiatives. These investments are intended to significantly enhance the company's ability to meet growing customer needs across various segments, including Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Electric Vehicles (EVs).
Within the Fasteners Division, approximately 250 crore rupees is proposed for investment to strengthen the company's presence in the developing wind energy sector, as well as in the space and aerospace industries. Furthermore, the company intends to invest about 100 crore rupees in the business of manufacturing cast and mechanical assemblies to increase its capabilities in producing high-value, high-precision assemblies.
Collectively, these investments demonstrate the company's strategic focus on entering adjacent product categories, enhancing technological potential, and creating diversified revenue streams in the fields of automotive, industrial, renewable energy, and new mobility.
Krishna added that continuous investment in technology, manufacturing excellence, and customer partnerships has allowed the company to respond flexibly to changing market demands. The company is also making steady progress in expanding its presence in promising non-automotive sectors such as aerospace, wind energy, railways, and defense, which will strengthen the stability and diversity of the business. Throughout the year, the company maintains a focus on operational excellence, prudent capital allocation, and creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
