A group of farmers from seven states expressed their support for the ethanol policy during a meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This meeting took place at Krashi Bhawan, despite general protests against the use of E20 biofuel in vehicles.
The farmers stated that the introduction of ethanol would increase agricultural incomes and ensure the country's energy security. They informed the minister that if ethanol is produced from sugarcane, corn, rice, and other raw crops, farmers will gain more buyers, and issues with spoilage or crop storage will be minimized.
