A briefing was held at the Commission for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection regarding the analysis of appeals from citizens and legal entities for the first half of 2026.
According to the report, approximately 23,200 written, electronic, and oral appeals were received by the Commission during the period under review. These appeals were accepted through personal and on-site receptions, meetings with responsible employees, as well as via the hotline 1159.
Analysis of the sources revealed that six appeals came from the Cabinet of Ministers, 592 from other organizations concerning their competencies, 656 directly from individuals and legal entities, and 310 via the Commission's email. Additionally, 6,690 appeals were received through the virtual reception of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 27 through public receptions, 342 through the Commission's official website, and 14,345 through the short number 1159. Furthermore, 76 appeals were registered during personal and on-site receptions of the Commission's leadership, and 124 during the receptions of responsible employees.
The analysis showed that the majority of appeals relate to consumer rights protection, compliance with competition legislation, issues in advertising, trade and service provision, utilities, communications, transport, and construction. The Commission pays special attention to the timely and quality consideration of these appeals. In particular, many issues were resolved on-site during the leadership's regional visits.
Based on the appeal analysis, studies were created in nearly ten areas. As a result of this work, the interests of 10,459,182 citizens were protected, and compensation of almost 59 billion sums was ensured for consumers.
It is reported that performance indicators for handling appeals will be regularly published on the official information resources and social networks of the Commission at the end of each quarter. Moreover, the state of appeal handling in the Commission and its territorial bodies is constantly analyzed, and appropriate disciplinary measures are taken against employees who commit negligence.
