According to Euronews, since July Ukraine has been conducting attacks on dozens of facilities belonging to Wildberries, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Russia.
Kyiv emphasizes that this company participates in supplying the Russian army. On Monday, another attack was carried out on one of the Wildberries warehouses located in the Vladimir region of Russia. This marks the third attack on the logistics network of the internet giant in the last two weeks.
Kyiv claims that these facilities are a critically important link in the supply chain for components for Russian military drones. Local residents published photos and videos on social media showing black smoke rising above the warehouse building.
Wildberries representatives confirmed the fire at the facility via their Telegram channel, stating that there were no casualties or injuries among the staff. However, later the governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeev, stated that two people were injured as a result of the attack.
Founded in 2004, Wildberries is considered one of the leading online retail platforms in Russia. According to the company, Wildberries' annual turnover is 70–75 billion euros, which, according to some estimates, exceeds two percent of Russia's GDP. The company employs about 50 thousand people, and during peak seasons, its expanded logistics network supports over one hundred thousand employees.
Given Wildberries' significant role in the Russian economy, the probability of its bankruptcy is assessed as low. According to mass media, the Russian government is considering support measures for Wildberries and sellers operating on this platform following the recent attacks.
During a video selection meeting held on July 27 under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a number of tasks were defined aimed at ensuring stable supply of energy resources to the population, especially supporting residents of areas not reached by the natural gas network.
As part of fulfilling these instructions, Energy Minister Sherzod Khojaev announced planned changes to electricity tariffs. He emphasized that the main goal of the new approach is to form a fair and targeted tariff system for the population living in places not covered by gas networks.
The Minister noted that the country's leadership instructed them to examine the real situation. He specified that there are about two thousand settlements in the country where natural gas has not been brought. Residents of these areas already use electricity for heating their homes, but they pay the full tariff cost without any discounts.
The instruction is to revise the tariff policy taking into account the specifics of each region. That is, an individual tariff system will be created based on factors such as whether the house is an apartment building or a private home, as well as the level of energy provision in that area.
Sherzod Khojaev stated that consumers who use electricity for heating but do not have access to natural gas should be entitled to receive a discount on electricity.
It should be recalled that working groups, consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Energy and systemic organizations, are operating in the republics to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set by the President. These groups study the current situation on the ground and take targeted measures to ensure stable access to both electricity and natural gas for the population and entrepreneurs.
In the pond agroclusters specializing in fish farming in the Chirchik district, scientists from the Institute of Scientific Research in Aquaculture have launched the cultivation of sholi on the water surface for the first time.
Sholi is a staple food for more than half of the world's population. Given the growing population, shrinking agricultural land, and climate change, increasing the efficiency of sholi cultivation has become strategically important.
Currently, to fully meet the republic's demand for rice, the sholi harvest needs to increase by more than 1 million tons per year. Achieving this goal requires new innovative agricultural technologies in this field. Therefore, scientists studied foreign experience and introduced sholi cultivation on the water surface for the first time.
Seeds planted in special nets are placed in fish farming ponds. Although the fish do not receive feed, they develop well. Only wild ducks feed in the same area.
The best yield was obtained from early plantings of the sholi varieties 'Iskandar' and 'Billur'.
Scientific researcher Mirjalol Akhmatov of the institute reported that experimental work is being conducted on an area of two hectares as part of the 'Floating Sholi' agricultural technology development project. Previously, the team studied the experience of Southeast Asian countries, such as China and Vietnam, as well as the experience of residents along rivers and seas. Based on this experience, they began work in Uzbekistan. The plants were placed in nets with an interval of 15 cm, which were filled with a mixture of soil and biohumus. The crops were planted in the pond, with 2–3 seedlings placed in each net. This study is being conducted over five periods.
This experiment is being carried out not only in the Chirchik district but also in the Yozovon district of Fergana region and the Mingbulok district of Namangan region.
Although this is the first such practice in Uzbekistan, there are certain difficulties in cultivating sholi in ponds. Each net requires laborious work to plant seeds or seedlings mixed with biohumus. However, the result is highly effective and relevant. Simultaneously, ecologically clean fish and rice can be grown in the ponds. Furthermore, herbicides against weeds are not used, and the water surface does not overheat, creating a favorable environment for fish development.
Considering the large number of fish ponds in the country, the agrotechnology of cultivating sholi on the water surface is becoming extremely relevant. This technology is in demand by farmers and fish farms because its implementation allows for increased production efficiency in agriculture, ensures food security, and increases export volumes.
