According to the agency's data, the volume of fish catch increased by 37.1 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
The largest volume of fish was recorded in Khorezm region, where 12.6 thousand metric tons were collected in the first half of the year. This was followed by Namangan region with 8.4 thousand metric tons, Tashkent region with 7.5 thousand metric tons, Andijan region with 7.1 thousand metric tons, and Syrdarya region with 6.5 thousand metric tons.
In Jizzakh region, the catch reached 6.0 thousand metric tons, and in Fergana region—5.8 thousand metric tons. Karakalpakstan Republic provided 5.4 thousand metric tons, and Navoi region—5.2 thousand metric tons.
During the reporting period, 4.1 thousand metric tons of fish were harvested in Samarkand region. It was also noted that Bukhara region caught 2.9 thousand metric tons, Sukhondarya region—2.4 thousand metric tons, and Kashkadarya region—1.5 thousand metric tons.
According to the National Committee of Statistics, Uzbekistan imported live decorative fish totaling $122,900 during the period from January to May 2026.
It should be noted that the cost of these supplies showed a significant increase, rising by 44.2% compared to the same period in 2025.
Thailand became the largest supplier to Uzbekistan, providing goods worth $86,400. Decorative fish were also imported from Indonesia for $18,700 and from India for $8,200.
In addition to these countries, supplies were made by Malaysia for $5,100, China for $3,400, and Kenya for $1,200. The total amount of supplies from these six countries is $123,000, which is $100 higher than the total amount of $122,900 indicated in the original source. This difference is likely due to rounding of the initial data.
