The Governor of Tashkent Region, Zoyir Mirzaev, met with representatives of the company 'Wonderful International Investment Group' from the People's Republic of China. During this meeting, it was particularly noted that partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China continue to strengthen and develop.
The potential for investments in Tashkent Region, favorable conditions for foreign investors, and issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with TSC-HK-INVESTMENT LLC were discussed. It is worth noting that this company was founded in 2019 and is a branch of 'Wonderful International Investment Group' from Hong Kong, specializing in implementing investment and real estate projects in Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties considered the prospects of creating a modern enterprise specializing in the production of thermal insulation panels for exterior walls and allocating land plots within the regional territory, as well as implementing large investment projects.
At the end of the meeting, the governor offered the Chinese entrepreneurs the 'Nurafshon City' territory and familiarized them with the land plots offered for the implementation of planned investment projects. Both sides expressed confidence that this meeting will serve to further strengthen practical cooperation between Tashkent Region and Chinese companies.
The Minister of Water Resources of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Hamroev, met with a delegation led by Hiroomi Yoshikawa, Director of the Department of International Trade for Water and Environmental Infrastructure in Japan, and Kubota Corporation. This was reported by the ministry's information agency.
During the meeting, issues such as effective water resource management, modernization of irrigation infrastructure, reconstruction of pumping stations and other hydraulic structures, implementation of energy-saving technologies, and widespread application of digital control and monitoring systems were discussed. The parties emphasized that expanding cooperation in these areas is of great importance for both countries.
Following the negotiations, an agreement memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Kubota Corporation to deepen partnership in the field of water use. Participants noted that this document will strengthen cooperation in areas such as water resource management, development of irrigation systems, implementation of public-private partnership projects, introduction of advanced technologies, development of joint pilot projects, and professional development of industry specialists.
A cooperation meeting was held between the 'Uzbekpaksanoat' association and the Vocational Education Agency. The meeting included R. Abdullaev, Chairman of the 'Uzbekpaksanoat' association, and A. Husanov, Director of the Vocational Education Agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations.
During the meeting, issues such as developing sericulture in the country, raising silkworms, strengthening the food base, improving the process of raising chicks, and ensuring employment for the population were reviewed. In particular, the issue of training qualified mid-level specialists for the sericulture industry was discussed.
The parties exchanged views on further deeply integrating the vocational education system with production, developing dual education, ensuring the employment of technical school graduates, and preparing personnel that meet labor market demands.
As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Vocational Education Agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations, and the 'Uzbekpaksanoat' association to strengthen cooperation in the field of vocational education. Within the scope of the memorandum, it is planned to improve curricula in the sericulture sector, effectively organize production practices, enhance the qualifications of educators, introduce foreign language teaching, and implement short-term professional courses.
Furthermore, the parties agreed to initiate cooperation on organizing joint seminars, forums, and professional skill competitions, and widely involving technical graduates in vacant positions in industry enterprises.
The joint-stock company 'Uzkimyosanat' successfully implemented the tasks set out in the Investment Plan during the first half of 2026.
Significant results were achieved during the reporting period in the areas of enterprise modernization, development of high-tech production, and job creation. Over six months, $283.2 million in foreign investments were attracted, resulting in the Investment Plan being fulfilled at 105%.
The attracted funds consisted of $278.2 million in direct foreign investment and loans, as well as $5 million in foreign loans under state guarantees.
Furthermore, three investment projects with a total value of $14.9 million were commissioned during the six-month period. These projects enabled the creation of production capacity worth 177 billion UZS annually and provided for the creation of 147 new jobs.
It is noted that these projects make a significant contribution to increasing production potential, expanding the output of import-substituting and export-oriented products, and ensuring employment of the population.
