Integrations of Kingsoft Lingxi, Tencent QClaw, Alibaba Qianwen Office, and ByteDance Doubao-Feishu are redefining the corporate office, as the agent becomes the entry point for task execution, while Feishu DingTalk and WeChat Work serve as auxiliary infrastructure.
In July, ByteDance, Tencent, Alibaba, and WPS began focusing on productive agents. Kingsoft Office first released Lingxi Professional, which went beyond being just an AI function within WPS, becoming an independent agent capable of interacting with WPS via plugins and command line interface (CLI).
Tencent moved the QClaw business into its cloud products division, where WorkBuddy is located. Alibaba merged QoderWork, Wukong, and MuleRun under the leadership of DingTalk CEO Chen Yusen to begin testing Qianwen Office. These moves demonstrate that productive agents are becoming the next generation of office entry points that major tech companies are betting on.
This week, ByteDance conducted a deeper restructuring of Feishu: the product team and the Doubao team merged into a new Doubao product team led by Zhao Ci, while Feishu head Xian Xin became subordinate to Zhao Ci. The Go-to-Market (GTM) team was integrated into Volcano Engine, forming a new organization called Creativity Service Platform under To B GTM. Cai Jing reported that Feishu's revenue exceeded 3 billion yuan in 2025, and second-quarter 2026 revenue grew by over 100% year-over-year. ByteDance's restructuring appears to be creating a seamless chain of enterprise AI services through these changes.
Previously, office logic required users to first decide whether they needed to create documents, spreadsheets, or hold meetings, and then find the corresponding function. In the age of agents, the logic is built from goal to result, and the basic unit changes from a file to a task. As Tian Ran explained, WPS traditionally starts with a document or presentation, whereas Lingxi starts with a clear goal. In the new structure, the agent acts as the central planning and entry point for tasks. In ByteDance, this role is played by Doubao; in Alibaba and Tencent, it is Qianwen Office and WorkBuddy, respectively.
For current systems, Doubao, Qianwen Office, and WorkBuddy, knowing the user's desires does not mean understanding what is happening inside the enterprise, let alone having the authority to act. This is where Feishu, DingTalk, and WeChat Work must continue to provide the environment for identity, permissions, dynamic information, and workflows. Feishu stores messages, documents, meetings, calendars, knowledge bases, organizational relationships, and permission systems that answer questions about who the agent represents, what it has access to, what recently happened in the project, and whom to contact next.
For the sustainable operation of corporate productive agents, model deployment, computing power, data processing, storage, and security are necessary. Users present goals to Doubao, which understands and distributes tasks; Feishu provides context, tools, and identity; Volcano Engine provides models, computation, data, and the operating environment. While Feishu gives up its organizational boundaries as an independent SaaS, its value as an execution and corporate context system is maintained and expanded. A collaborative office landscape built around Feishu, DingTalk, and WeChat Work could be rewritten by Doubao Enterprise, Qianwen Office, and WorkBuddy.
Tencent WorkBuddy has released version V5.3.5 with Tencent Docs integration, enabling collaborative editing using artificial intelligence directly within office documents. This feature supports both local Office files and cloud documents by utilizing contextual multimodal intelligence.
The Human-Agent Dual Writing feature was launched on July 30th alongside Tencent Docs. Users can select any segment in Word, Excel, PPT, or Markdown files and issue a command in natural language. The AI makes changes only to the selected area, preserving the surrounding content and formatting. This marks a shift from generating autonomous results to collaborative editing within the document.
The interaction model is based on precise selection and targeted correction. Users can specify edits such as improving a paragraph with an emphasis on user growth, splitting a dense slide into multiple pages, adding a summary at the end while fully preserving the layout, or analyzing a selected range of data to identify trends and generate visualizations. The AI operates exclusively within the selected area, which helps maintain the author's organizational structure, chosen stylistic decisions, and previous edits. This approach solves a major problem with AI-based tools that overwrite user work when generating a complete document overhaul. WorkBuddy supports both types of files: local Office and cloud Tencent Docs, covering the most common office workflows.
The technical structure combines WorkBuddy's agent capabilities with the Tencent Docs rendering engine. When a user selects an area and enters a command, WorkBuddy interprets the semantic intent, analyzes the selected content, generates the necessary changes, and applies them via the Docs API while preserving formatting. The system is capable of processing multimodal content, including text, tables, charts, images, and page layouts. Specifically, for Excel, the AI can perform data analysis, extract trends, detect anomalies, and create visualizations directly within the table context. For PPT, the AI can split, merge, reformat, and restructure slides based on content density and logical flow analysis. The multi-turn editing capability allows for sequential refinement of the document, where each change is based on previous revisions.
The release of this tool positions WorkBuddy as an additional layer of AI on top of standard office software. The human-agent dual writing feature presents AI as a co-author that supports human oversight. This aligns with the general trend of moving from task automation tools to AI employees, where value shifts from automation to augmentation of human capabilities. WorkBuddy bets that the winner among office AIs will be the tool with the most seamless integration.
