A training seminar titled 'Ajiniyoz' was organized at the State Pedagogical Institute in Nukus for staff and students. The goal of the event was to enhance information security culture, develop skills for safe use of internet networks, and prevent cybercrimes.
The institute's rector, former Quvondiq Qodirov, spoke at the event and emphasized that such seminars contribute to strengthening the knowledge and skills of staff and students in the field of information security, as well as improving their legal awareness in combating cybercrime.
During the seminar, specialists highlighted current problems of cyber fraud, methods of fraud carried out through social networks and messengers, and provided detailed information on protecting personal data and safely using bank plastic cards and electronic payment systems.
It was noted that over the past six months, internal affairs bodies in the Karakalpakstan Republic received a total of 1922 appeals related to cybercrimes, with total damage amounting to 13 billion 115 million soums. Furthermore, 49.8% of cybercrimes were committed as a result of downloading malicious files, demonstrating the relevance of this issue.
Participants in the seminar were given important recommendations, such as being cautious about suspicious links and messages from unknown sources, using strong passwords, and enabling two-factor authentication.
As part of the 'Day of AI' project, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, Yangi Uzbekistan University, and the MIT RAISE initiative specializing in artificial intelligence training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), selection testing was held for participation in the advanced training program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
About 400 computer science teachers who have successfully completed artificial intelligence courses took part in the testing. The goal of the event was to select specialists for participation in the international advanced training program conducted at HKUST.
Following the testing, 50 teachers who showed the best results will have the opportunity to participate in a one-week international advanced training program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It is worth noting that the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is among the top 50 higher education institutions in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2026.
