The acceptance of ash (Bhasma) by Mahadeva holds special significance in Hinduism. According to religious scriptures and traditions, Mahadeva covers his body with ash to convey a message to the world about the transience of life and the immortality of the soul. The meaning of the ash is viewed from various perspectives through mythological stories, spiritual interpretations, and common beliefs. The tradition of wearing revered ash, which can be found in temples, is connected to this same belief.

What is the significance of Mahadeva wearing ash? It is believed that Mahadeva's appearance differs from other deities. According to religious views, he follows the path of renunciation, preferring asceticism over material wealth and adornments. The ash on his body serves as a reminder that the body is mortal and eventually dissolves into the five elements. Therefore, one should not boast about wealth, status, beauty, or ego.

In the Shiva Purana and other religious traditions, the significance of ash is mentioned. According to one belief, Mahadeva carried ash while wandering through crematoriums to show the world that all bodies eventually turn to dust. Another legend states that after Kamadeva burned to ashes, Mahadeva accepted this ash, thereby conveying the message of victory over desires and passions.

From a religious standpoint, ash is considered not just dust, but represents a deep philosophy of life. It reminds humans of the inevitability of the end of the ego, that death is an inherent truth of life, and that the soul in Hinduism is eternal. This is why ash is also perceived as a symbol of renunciation, self-reflection, and virtue.

According to religious customs, any person may wear revered ash available in temples or sacred ash from a Yajna, provided reverence and propriety are observed. For ordinary people, using crematorium ash is not considered appropriate. Traditionally, ash is applied to the forehead in the form of three horizontal lines, known as Tripundra, which symbolizes Shiva, renunciation, and spiritual knowledge.

An attempt to avoid paying customs duties totaling 2.2 billion soums has been uncovered. This attempt is linked to the illegal use of customs benefits when declaring cooling system equipment worth 17.5 billion soums, which was supposed to be paid into the state budget.

The attempt to evade customs payments that were supposed to be transferred to the state budget was timely discovered by employees of the 'Toshkent-Tovar' customs post of the Tashkent City Customs Administration.

According to available information, refrigeration units with a total value of 17.5 billion soums were imported into Uzbekistan from a foreign country. However, the entrepreneur attempted to illegally take advantage of existing benefits during the customs clearance process.

Specifically, in the accompanying documents, these goods were listed as 'parts of mechanical cooling system devices.' The goal was to create grounds for applying customs benefits to the goods and consequently reduce the amount of customs duties payable.

During customs control, it was established that the submitted information was not true. As a result, it was revealed that an attempt was made not to pay customs duties amounting to 2 billion 212 million soums by abusing customs benefits. After discovering this case, the customs benefits applied to the goods were annulled. Currently, the goods are in temporary storage. Investigative measures are being conducted regarding this incident in the established manner.

This case once again emphasizes the importance of correctly specifying the name and classification of goods during customs clearance, as well as the lawful use of customs benefits within established objectives.

Road safety is today not only the responsibility of law enforcement agencies but also an important function of the deputies' body and the public, as every tragedy on the road is a sorrow for a family, and every prevented disaster is a saved human life.

As part of the national program 'With the People' by O‘zLiDeP, a public hearing was held in the Syrdarya region, where issues and ways to solve problems in the field of road traffic and cadastre were discussed in detail, and important proposals were put forward in the interests of the population.

The hearings were attended by Senator, Chairman of the Syrdarya Regional Council of O‘zLiDeP, Pokiza Akhmedjanov; Deputy of the Laws Chamber of the Supreme Majlis, Gavhar Alimov; Head of the apparatus of the Party Regional Council, Deputy of the People's Council at the regional level, Shohista Bozorboev; as well as deputies of regional, district, and city councils and heads of responsible departments.

A report from the Public Security Department of the Internal Affairs Department of the Syrdarya region on the work done in the first half of 2026 was presented. It was noted that thanks to systematic preventive measures, the total number of road traffic accidents in the region decreased by 28.6%, and the number of accidents with injuries decreased by 42.6%. In addition, detailed information was provided on the work to improve road infrastructure, widespread implementation of digital technologies, vehicle registration in the state register, and the implementation of state programs.

It was also discussed that the State Cadastre Department of the Syrdarya region is engaged in registering real estate objects in the state register, legalizing cadastral documents, commissioning new facilities, and improving the quality of public services provided to the population.

The deputies voiced their comments and suggestions on some issues in this area, giving appropriate recommendations to the responsible persons. A number of practical proposals aimed at further strengthening road safety were put forward during the discussions. In particular, it was proposed to reduce the permitted speed on certain sections of the M-39 'Tashkent–Termiz' and A-373a 'Okhangaron–Guliston–Sardoba' highways from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

According to the responsible persons, such measures contribute to reducing the number of road traffic accidents and increasing the safety of road users. Following the hearings, recommendations were given to the responsible organizations regarding the implementation of the expressed proposals. An agreement was also reached on regular monitoring of the implementation of the raised issues under the control of deputy oversight.

It is important to note that this public hearing, organized as part of the 'With the People' program, creates a basis for studying problems that concern the public, increasing the transparency and accountability of the activities of responsible departments, as well as strengthening the influence of deputy oversight from parliament and local Councils.
