This result was ensured by the appropriate participation of members of the national men's team in international competitions during July and the organization of chess competitions in Uzbekistan according to established international standards. The average rating of the men's national team was 2626.
According to the rating, the women's national team of Uzbekistan occupied the 20th position among 204 national teams with an average rating of 2238. Additionally, the country's mixed team secured 14th place with a rating of 2432 points.
The results for the first half of 2026 demonstrate stable growth in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector. According to preliminary data from the National Statistical Committee, the volume of produced goods and services in this industry reached almost 271 trillion sums, representing an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period last year.
The main part of the total volume, amounting to 254.7 trillion sums, is attributed to the farming and livestock sectors. This underscores the crucial importance of this area for ensuring food security in the country, continuous supply of agricultural products to the population, and increasing export potential.
The volume recorded in forestry amounted to 14.3 trillion sums. This indicator testifies to the systematic management of efforts to preserve forest resources, expand green zones, and ensure ecological sustainability. This aspect is also important from the perspective of adapting to climate change and combating desertification.
Although the fisheries sector volume of 1.9 trillion sums does not yet constitute a large share of the total volume, there is an observed expansion of opportunities for sector diversification, fish farming in artificial reservoirs, and ensuring the domestic market with quality protein sources.
Overall, the growth rate of 4.7% indicates the effectiveness of increasing production volumes in agriculture, the implementation of modern agricultural technologies, and the support measures implemented by the state. It is expected that the results of the harvest season in the coming months will improve these indicators, and the sector's contribution to economic growth will increase by the end of the year.
The first day of the 'WR Chess Rapid & Blitz' team competition between Uzbek and US chess teams in Miami, USA, has concluded.
Four rounds were held in the rapid segment of the first day. In the first round, the Ocean side team achieved a victory over the Uzbek chess players with a score of 2.5:1.5. In this round, the matches between Jawhir Sindorov – Hikaru Nakamura, Nodirbek Abdusattorov – Fabiano Caruana, and Shamsiddin Vohidov – Lener Dominguez Perez on the fourth board ended in draws. Only the game between Muhiddin Madaminov and Wesley So on the third board was also a draw.
The second round resulted in a 2:2 score. In this match, Abdusattorov drew against Caruana, Sindorov resigned to Nakamura, Vohidov lost to So, and Yoqubboev split points with Levon Aronian. In the third round, despite Nodirbek Abdusattorov achieving a single victory and Yoqubboev recording a draw, the team could not avoid defeat. The result of this round was 2.5:1.5.
In the decisive fourth round of the competition, our team defeated the US team with a score of 2.5:1.5, thanks to the victories of Jawhir Sindorov and Nodirbek Abdusattorov. At the end of the rapid competitions, the US team had 8.5 points on the boards, while the Uzbek chess players had 7.5 points.
