The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan sent thirty-five sets of sports equipment and uniforms intended for cricket to Tashkent. This delivery was organized in honor of the anniversary of the republic's state independence.
This project is aimed at supporting the popularization of cricket among the youth of Uzbekistan, as well as developing the field of sports diplomacy and promoting a healthy lifestyle. As part of the project implementation, it is planned to learn from Pakistan's experience in the development of this sport.
Cricket is practiced in over one hundred countries today. In Pakistan, this sport has national status and is one of the symbols of the country's unity.
It was previously announced that the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, supported Uzbek athletes who participated in the Future Games held in Astana.
A new enterprise is being prepared for operation in the Kagan district of Bukhara region, which will be the first in Uzbekistan to produce chemical additives for road construction. Until now, all necessary products in the country were fully imported from abroad.
Discussions on the implementation of this project took place during an online meeting between the General Consul of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, Khajiakbar Vakhabov, and the investor of the company Master Innovation, Jasur Dhumayev, who operates in Primorsky Krai. The meeting covered issues regarding the progress of the facility construction, achieved results, and plans for production start.
The factory construction is being carried out with the participation of investors from Uzbekistan and South Korea. The total investment in the project amounts to 15 million dollars. The South Korean firm Ezcon is participating as a project partner.
The new plant is planned to produce chemical additives of the D110 grade. These additives are intended to strengthen the durability of both cement concrete products and asphalt concrete mixtures used in building roads and airfields. In June, the enterprise already conducted tests and produced the first 10 tons of this product.
After reaching full production capacity, the plant will supply the domestic market with its own goods, which will reduce dependence on imports. Furthermore, the creation of approximately 45–50 new jobs is expected. In the future, the company intends to expand sales markets by exporting products to neighboring countries such as Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan authorities plan to create a new program to support local brands. This initiative is driven by the fact that a significant share of companies with their own trademarks have not yet been able to export.
During a meeting dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first half of the year and setting tasks for the remaining period, it was noted that the existing system for supporting national brands shows positive dynamics: their number has significantly increased in recent years. Over the past two years, entrepreneurs have received financial assistance totaling 15.5 billion soums.
Nevertheless, the potential of these companies has not been fully realized. Of the total 309 firms that have registered their brands, approximately one-third have still not entered international markets.
The head of state emphasized that entrepreneurs who have created their own brands have already gained recognition in the domestic market due to product quality, competitive prices, and provided guarantees. He noted that with additional assistance, such enterprises can successfully establish themselves in foreign markets.
A serious obstacle for local producers remains high competition from imports. Goods offered at dumping prices, as well as counterfeit products, enter the market, which violates the principles of equal business conditions.
In this regard, responsible state bodies were instructed to prepare and present a brand support program within two weeks, aimed at facilitating their entry into exports and strengthening their positions both domestically and abroad.
