The Competition Development Committee reported that three pharmaceutical companies voluntarily returned funds obtained as a result of unjustified price increases for medicinal products. The total amount of returned funds amounted to approximately 100 million soums.
According to the agency's data, violations were identified during the analysis of information received through the unified information system Fair Tech. The inspection revealed cases of non-compliance with established prices by the companies NIKA PHARM, Astor Alliance, and EVRO FARM BIZNES.
Specifically, NIKA PHARM sold 'Gastromeg Ezo (Nika Pharm)' capsules 40 mg No. 20 in violation. Astor Alliance sold 'Dolgit' cream 50 g and 'Mezym Forte 10000' tablets No. 20, while EVRO FARM BIZNES sold 'Brovensin (World Medicine)' syrup in 100 ml bottles.
As noted by the committee, after studying the data received from the Tax Committee regarding the presence of unjustified income, the companies independently rectified the detected violations and took measures to return the excess funds.
The Competition Development Committee urged participants in the pharmaceutical market to comply with legislative requirements, regularly analyze applied trade markups using the Fair Tech system, and voluntarily resolve any identified violations.
Employees of the State Security Service, together with the Customs Committee, intercepted an illegal channel for the import and sale of counterfeit medicines that were arriving in Uzbekistan from Russia.
During operational measures, law enforcement agencies conducted searches in three residential premises in Tashkent and the Tashkent region. The investigation revealed that a 63-year-old resident of the Yangihaot district of the capital, along with his two sons, was involved in storing and selling pharmaceutical products.
Searches resulted in the seizure of 1330 packages of counterfeit medicines under 29 different trade marks, including Buserelin, Volini, Bikana, and Tirzetta, in accordance with established procedural rules. The preliminary estimated value of the seized goods is approximately 600 million sums.
Investigators believe that the drugs were delivered from Russia in small batches by passengers traveling by train and plane. After importation, the medicines were sold in Tashkent. A preliminary investigation is currently underway, and the seized medicines have been sent for expert examination.
