A set of measures is being implemented in Uzbekistan to enhance security in schools and universities

Significant changes are set to occur in the madrasa education system of Uttar Pradesh state. At a meeting of the state cabinet, held on Tuesday morning under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a proposal to amend the Madrasa Council Act of 2004 was approved. Following these changes, madrasas in the region will no longer be able to issue Kamil and Fazil diplomas.

The government made this decision in accordance with a Supreme Court order. According to the government's statement, the Kamil and Fazil diplomas are not recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Consequently, the revocation of recognition for these diplomas is being prepared. The government asserts that this step is taken to bring the higher education system into compliance with national standards and regulatory structure.

After approval by the cabinet, the necessary amendments will be made to the Madrasa Council Act of 2004. The implementation of these amendments will lead to substantial transformations in the madrasa education system. The government believes this will help ensure uniformity and transparency in the higher education system. It was clearly stated that this decision was made in execution of the Supreme Court's order. It was within this framework that the proposal to amend the Madrasa Council Act was prepared and approved by the cabinet.

Once further legal procedures are completed, the amended provisions will come into effect. This will spark active discussions among madrasa students, madrasa leadership, and the educational community regarding the consequences of this decision. After the amendments come into force, a new system concerning Kamil and Fazil diplomas will be introduced in the madrasa education system. In addition to this proposal, other important initiatives were also approved at the cabinet meeting chaired by Yogi Adityanath, including a proposal to present an additional budget to the parliament.

The meeting also considered a proposal regarding the evaluation of the Ganga Expressway project from Jewar Expressway to Bulandshahr. Furthermore, the cabinet agenda included a proposal to establish a regional development body for Prayagraj-Chitrakoot. Also on the agenda were proposals for the gratuitous transfer of land for the construction of seven multi-purpose hubs in the state and the creation of a Committee for Nomadic Development. Two proposals from the Department of Information Technology and Electronics were also presented before the cabinet.

Additionally, proposals related to amending the guidelines for implementing the Vishwakarma Labour Respect Plan 2.0, as well as introducing the Indian government's agricultural insurance plan and a restructured weather-based crop insurance plan in Uttar Pradesh in line with Indian government directives, were presented.

During the cabinet meeting, other important proposals were also approved. Among them was a proposal to extend the validity of the agreement dated February 6, 2015, for a second time by five years for the implementation of the community project, as well as a proposal related to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). After the amendments to the Madrasa Council Act of 2004 are approved, further legal procedures will be completed, after which a new system concerning Kamil and Fazil diplomas will be implemented in the madrasas of the state.

Road safety is today not only the responsibility of law enforcement agencies but also an important function of the deputies' body and the public, as every tragedy on the road is a sorrow for a family, and every prevented disaster is a saved human life.

As part of the national program 'With the People' by O‘zLiDeP, a public hearing was held in the Syrdarya region, where issues and ways to solve problems in the field of road traffic and cadastre were discussed in detail, and important proposals were put forward in the interests of the population.

The hearings were attended by Senator, Chairman of the Syrdarya Regional Council of O‘zLiDeP, Pokiza Akhmedjanov; Deputy of the Laws Chamber of the Supreme Majlis, Gavhar Alimov; Head of the apparatus of the Party Regional Council, Deputy of the People's Council at the regional level, Shohista Bozorboev; as well as deputies of regional, district, and city councils and heads of responsible departments.

A report from the Public Security Department of the Internal Affairs Department of the Syrdarya region on the work done in the first half of 2026 was presented. It was noted that thanks to systematic preventive measures, the total number of road traffic accidents in the region decreased by 28.6%, and the number of accidents with injuries decreased by 42.6%. In addition, detailed information was provided on the work to improve road infrastructure, widespread implementation of digital technologies, vehicle registration in the state register, and the implementation of state programs.

It was also discussed that the State Cadastre Department of the Syrdarya region is engaged in registering real estate objects in the state register, legalizing cadastral documents, commissioning new facilities, and improving the quality of public services provided to the population.

The deputies voiced their comments and suggestions on some issues in this area, giving appropriate recommendations to the responsible persons. A number of practical proposals aimed at further strengthening road safety were put forward during the discussions. In particular, it was proposed to reduce the permitted speed on certain sections of the M-39 'Tashkent–Termiz' and A-373a 'Okhangaron–Guliston–Sardoba' highways from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

According to the responsible persons, such measures contribute to reducing the number of road traffic accidents and increasing the safety of road users. Following the hearings, recommendations were given to the responsible organizations regarding the implementation of the expressed proposals. An agreement was also reached on regular monitoring of the implementation of the raised issues under the control of deputy oversight.

It is important to note that this public hearing, organized as part of the 'With the People' program, creates a basis for studying problems that concern the public, increasing the transparency and accountability of the activities of responsible departments, as well as strengthening the influence of deputy oversight from parliament and local Councils.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan has annulled a tender for procurement services valued at 587.2 million soms. This decision was made following a requirement from the Competition Development Committee, which discovered legislative violations during the procurement process.

The inspection was initiated after a social media post titled 'One address, one phone number—one tender' was published. The Committee examined compliance with legislative requirements in the competition for organizing centralized events, which the ministry announced on July 27, 2026, with an initial estimated value of 587.2 million soms.

As a result of the inspection, it was established that the purchase did not comply with the provisions of Article 29 of the Law on Competition. According to the committee, actions were taken during the bidding process that restricted or could restrict competition.

Due to the identified violations, the committee sent a demand to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education to comply with legal norms. After receiving this demand, the tender was canceled in accordance with established procedures.
