Among the participants who brought joy was Khurshidbek Alimzhanov, a member of the national team of Uzbekistan. The athlete, known by the nickname 'Chaloin', demonstrated a stable and confident performance in the category with an obstacle height of 125 centimeters, taking second place and receiving the gold medal of the competition.
This result once again confirms the competitiveness of Uzbek equestrian athletes on the international stage. This achievement also testifies to the effectiveness of systematic work being carried out in the country to develop equestrian sports, accumulate international experience, and improve the skill of athletes.
Improvement, freedom, and culture of life in mahallas are among the priority areas of state policy at present.
During a video selection meeting held on July 21, 2026, chaired by the President, important tasks were defined for creating a new system of 'mahalla yettiligi' activities and conducting 'Dolzarb 40-Day' events in the most needy mahallas.
As part of fulfilling these instructions, the State Construction Bank (SKB) has begun implementing activities in the merged mahallas of the Surkhondaryo region. In particular, large-scale work is being carried out in the 'Sharafobod' and 'Yoqutli bog' mahallas in the Sariosiyo district, as well as in the 'Yangi Hazorbog' mahalla in the Denovsk district, aimed at improving living conditions, landscaping, and tidying up territories for the population.
Activists from the mahallas, educators, youth, representatives of 'mahalla yettiligi', and the general public actively participate in these events. Work is being done to improve streets and public places, clean roadsides and territories from household and construction waste, care for trees and plant new ones, as well as paint walls.
In addition, the bank organizes the introduction of exemplary projects that help increase the income of the population in other households.
The 'Dolzarb 40-Day' events contribute to strengthening citizens' sense of belonging, increasing solidarity, and enhancing the culture of life alongside improvement. These initiatives are gradually continuing in other mahallas merged with the State Construction Bank.
As part of the ongoing boxing tournament 'Yerevan Mayor Cup' in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, the semi-finals featuring participants from the Uzbekistan national team will take place on July 24.
In a bout scheduled for the evening in the under 60 kilograms category, Samandar Alimov will aim to defeat Armenian athlete Artur Bazeyan before the final. In the 90 kilograms category, Toʻrabek Habibullaev will fight against Iranian representative Hadi Mohammadnejad to advance to the final.
On the third day of this prestigious competition, Shahzod Muzaffarov earned the right to contend for the gold medal in the final after defeating Armenian boxer Suren Rubinyan 5:0 in the under 55 kilograms semi-final. In the 70 kg weight category semi-final, Iqboljon Kholdorov lost to Armenian Khurutyun Khakobkoyan 2:3, securing a bronze medal.

The Ombudsman stated that corruption and law violations are increasing in Ukraine, as well as the risk of social clashes because seriously ill people are also being sent to the army. He noted that the number of military personnel in documents is growing, but the actual number fighting on the front is becoming smaller.
Dmytro Lubinets, a representative of the Council for Human Rights of Ukraine, interviewed Novyny.LIVE and reported that some mobilized individuals simply flee from military commissariat premises. Others leave military training sites or depart during transport to the training ground. Cases of unauthorized departure from military units are also frequently recorded.
Lubinets emphasized: 'Our army is growing on paper. But in fact, the number of those who are fighting is decreasing.'
He also estimated that only 10% of mobilization processes comply with established standards, while various violations are observed in the remaining 90%.
The Ombudsman stressed that military service members of the commissariat do not have the right to independently check people's documents, stop cars, set up checkpoints, or disembark people from vehicles without any explanation. He also called on the Ministry of Defense to prohibit concealing faces with balaclavas and removing unit insignia during mobilization measures to enable the identification of individuals who commit violations.
Lubinets also highlighted the issue of corruption in the commissariat system. According to the information received, $10,000 may be demanded for being taken out by bus, and up to $20,000 for being removed from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) building. In his words, citizens who have money can be released by paying, while those who cannot are sent to the army and may be detained again the next day.
The Ombudsman has received thousands of appeals regarding the activities of military medical commissions. Cases have been found where citizens whose illnesses are confirmed by medical documents were still deemed fit for military service. Among such cases mentioned is an individual with a long-term mental illness who was deemed fit, as well as a person diagnosed with Hepatitis B, C, and D who was assessed as completely healthy and sent to the training ground kitchen.
Lubinets warned that if the situation in the mobilization system is not immediately changed, there is a high probability of increased clashes between citizens and military commissariat employees. He named the mass protests against the actions of TCC employees in Lviv as the first signs of this risk, in which about 200 citizens participated.
