Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey held a series of meetings, participated in a business forum, and inspected production and logistics facilities during their visit to Mersin province, according to Dunyo Information Agency.
More than 40 entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Turkey took part in the business forum, organized with the participation of Mustafa Ozdamar, Deputy Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These representatives covered sectors such as agriculture, logistics, and greenhouse farms.
Participants discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation, developing export infrastructure, and promoting Uzbek products in foreign markets. Special attention was paid to Mersin's potential as a logistics hub for supplying goods from Uzbekistan to Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East.
During the trip, the Uzbek delegation also visited the Mersin Free Zone (MESBAŞ), where over 330 companies operate with a total turnover of about 3.5 billion US dollars. Representatives of the Uzbek juice producer Dena expressed interest in using the warehousing infrastructure of this free zone to increase export operations.
At the conclusion of the visit, the parties reached an agreement on further practical interaction in the fields of trade, investment, logistics, and promoting Uzbek brands internationally.
