Key highlights of Muthoot Finance's first quarter results
Muthoot Finance, an NBFC specializing in gold loans, reported a 43% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹2,825 crore for the April-June period. This growth was driven by a strong increase in the loan portfolio volume.
The company's total revenue in Q1FY27 increased to ₹8,695 crore compared to ₹6,485 crore the previous year, while total expenses rose to ₹4,898 crore from ₹3,812 crore previously. The company's assets under management also increased by 43% year-on-year, amounting to ₹1.92 trillion, reflecting sustained demand for gold loans.

The GIFT Nifty indicator signaled a positive start for domestic stocks on Monday, as futures trading rose by 136 points to 24,589, aided by falling oil prices which boosted investor sentiment.
However, Asian markets showed declines. The most noticeable drop was recorded on the KOSPI of South Korea, which fell by more than 4%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index decreased by 1.84%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped by 3.9%.
On Wall Street, the situation was more stable: the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.53% on Friday, the S&P 500 increased by 0.70%, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced by 1%.
Oil prices sharply declined after US President Donald Trump announced talks with Tehran for Monday. This raised hopes for a deal that could ease concerns about supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude futures fell by 4.81% to $83.70 per barrel.
