At the 38th year-end ceremony at Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Merat, Uttar Pradesh Governor and Kuladhikpati Anandiben Patel delivered a message to the youth, expressing serious concern over the growing threat of drugs in universities and urging young people to stay away from addiction.
The Danger of Drugs in Higher Education Institutions
Addressing the ceremony participants, the governor reported that empty alcohol bottles were found during inspections of hostels across various universities. Furthermore, it was learned that drug supplies were being made through food brought from outside, which causes extreme alarm.
Patel emphasized that character building is the most important foundation of education, not just obtaining a degree. She reminded students that success in life depends not only on achievements but also on having good moral qualities, positive thinking, and a disciplined lifestyle, so they must always avoid vices such as drug addiction.
Drugs Do Not Solve Problems
Governor Anandiben Patel stated that drugs cannot be a solution to any problems. On the contrary, they gradually destroy the dreams, talent, health of the youth, and the hopes of their families. She strongly urged students to direct their energy towards studies, scientific research, innovation, and nation-building, focusing on their goals and avoiding any temptations that could harm their future.
Patel also noted that the responsibility of universities is not only to provide education but also to prepare students as responsible citizens. In this regard, creating drug-free campuses and a healthy educational environment is a shared responsibility of everyone.
Awarding Top Students
During the ceremony, the governor presented gold medals to 199 outstanding students from various faculties of the university. She also wished all students a bright future. Additionally, the event included the inauguration and laying of various university development projects, as well as honoring many individuals for their significant contributions to education, research, and other fields. The attending students, faculty, and guests attentively received the governor's speech, with her call against drugs and emphasis on character building becoming the main highlight of the program.
