The total market value of nine of the ten most expensive companies increased by 2.51 trillion rupees last week, with Bajaj Finance emerging as the biggest winner amid the overall stock market growth.
Last week, the BSE Sensex index rose by 2034.87 points, which is 2.67 percent, and the NSE Nifty index grew by 616.15 points, or 2.59 percent. Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President of Research at Religare Broking Ltd, noted that the markets demonstrated a strong recovery during the week, interrupting a recent series of declines. This was due to falling crude oil prices, improved geopolitical sentiment, expectations of strong first-quarter earnings for the financial year 27, and renewed purchases by foreign institutional investors (FIIs), which boosted risk appetite.
Among the companies that showed growth in the top ten by value were Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The only company that lagged was Hindustan Unilever.
The market capitalization of Bajaj Finance increased significantly by 80,345.97 crore rupees, reaching 710,817.51 crore rupees, marking the largest gain among the top 10 firms.
