Sean Stein, President of the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC), reported on Friday that American companies acknowledge the strengths of the Chinese economy and innovation system. These companies are seeking partnerships with Chinese firms to enhance their own competitiveness.
These statements were made by Stein ahead of an event dedicated to exchanging views between a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs led by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and USCBC members in Washington, D.C.
He emphasized that many American enterprises are interested in engaging with Chinese partners within the framework of this event and are ready to deepen cooperation with Chinese companies.
Regarding potential areas for collaboration, Stein noted that besides frequently mentioned sectors such as agriculture and aviation, American businessmen are interested in developing partnerships with Chinese companies in the fields of financial services, life sciences, research, and manufacturing.
According to Stein, in recent discussions with CEOs of American companies, they recognize certain advantages of the Chinese economy and the Chinese innovation system. Their focus is on studying the Chinese system and finding ways to cooperate with Chinese companies and other parties to become more competitive not only in China but also in other countries and regions of the world.
Founded in 1973, the USCBC is a private, non-partisan, non-profit association comprising about 270 American companies operating in China.
