Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, a leader in the automotive industry, reported on Saturday a 34 percent increase in total sales, reaching 241,421 units in July compared to 180,526 units in the same period last year.
According to the report submitted by the company to the regulatory body, the volume of passenger car sales in the domestic market in July was 196,203 units, exceeding the figure of 137,776 units in July 2025, demonstrating a growth of 43.4 percent. In July 2026, the company recorded its best performance in domestic passenger car sales.
The total domestic sales volume, including Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), reached a historic high of 200,123 units. Sales of mini-cars such as Alto and S-Presso amounted to 12,634 units, higher than the previous year's figure of 6,822 units.
Sales of compact cars, including models Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, grew to 90,822 units last month compared to 65,840 units in July 2025. Regarding SUVs, models Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6 were sold in quantity of 78,851 units, whereas this figure was 52,773 units a year ago.
Furthermore, Eeco van sales reached 13,896 units last month, compared to 12,341 units in July 2025. Maruti Suzuki India also noted that sales of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle amounted to 3,920 units last month versus 2,794 units in the same month last year.
