Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced that he has been diagnosed with typhoid and is undergoing treatment. Despite his illness, he assured that his condition will not halt the nationwide protests demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In a video message posted on social media, Dipke stated that he had been feeling unwell for the past few days and is currently receiving treatment. He noted that he is receiving daily intravenous injections.
Despite his illness, Dipke thanked CJP supporters for maintaining the protests across the country and expressed confidence in achieving the movement's goals. He stated that by continuing peaceful demonstrations, they can achieve the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
Dipke congratulated all participants on the success of the movement and emphasized that sustained peaceful protests will help them realize their main demand—the resignation of Minister Pradhan.
The action led by CJP was initiated due to alleged irregularities in the conduct of entrance examinations. Protesters are demanding accountability in the examination system, reforms in admissions and entrance tests, as well as the resignation of Pradhan.
The protest received support from several public figures, including activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the action on June 28th and undertook a 26-day fast. Wangchuk concluded his fast this week after the Centre provided written assurances that no cases would be filed against peaceful protesters, that Parliament would discuss exam reforms and accountability, and that compensation for families of students who died by suicide following the alleged NEET exam leak would be favorably considered.
Despite Wangchuk ending his fast, CJP insists that their action at Jantramantr will continue until Pradhan leaves his post.
