A new case of animal cruelty has been recorded in Tashkent. A video circulated on social media showing a woman repeatedly throwing a cat against walls and railings of an entrance.
According to animal protection activists, this incident took place at the Tuzel-1 massif. After the recording drew public attention, volunteers from the organization Mehr va Oqibat, along with law enforcement officials, arrived at the specified address.
During the inspection, three cats ran out of the apartment, and two kittens were seized by volunteers and taken to a safe place. It was found that this is not an isolated case: about six months ago, five cats were rescued from the same apartment and subsequently found new owners.
According to the volunteers, an official statement has already been filed with the law enforcement agencies, and an investigation is currently underway. The legal responsibility of the woman will be determined based on the results of this inquiry.
This incident has provoked a wide public outcry on social media, where users insist on holding the woman accountable. Animal protection activists express hope that the investigation will be comprehensive and that the perpetrator will receive deserved punishment according to the law.
Previously, a similar case involving a video where a kitten was thrown over a high fence for content creation resulted in a fine for its creators—two young residents of the Andijan region, who were held responsible for animal cruelty.
