The Korean company XYZ has introduced the DEUX robot, designed for use in various environments, including offices, stores, hospitals, and residential homes. The robot's structure features a central column whose height is adjustable, as well as an upper horizontal cylindrical module equipped with a camera and animated eyes.
Two anthropomorphic arms are attached to this module, each featuring a three-fingered gripper. These manipulators are capable of lifting objects weighing up to 5.5 kilograms, while the total weight of the robot itself is 60 kilograms. Movement is achieved on a wheeled platform that allows the height to be changed within the range of 90 to 155 centimeters.
The developers also offered the Glove X glove for remote control. This glove ensures the transmission of operator movements to the robot with minimal delay—less than 50 milliseconds—and also collects data necessary for training the system to perform specific tasks. According to the developer's website, the cost of the DEUX version with a wheeled platform reaches $39.9 thousand USD.
As an example of a similar configuration, the robot from the American startup Reflex Robotics is mentioned. Its torso, also equipped with two arms, is mounted on a wheeled platform and can move up and down along the vertical column. Previously, it was demonstrated how this robot performs tasks such as making breakfast, loading a dishwasher, and folding laundry into a washing machine.
In another area of research concerning materials science, Dutch and Canadian scientists have created a light-controlled switch. This switch possesses an adjustable activation threshold, with information about the threshold being fixed directly in the material. This device can be integrated into soft electronics and find application in robotics. The results of this work were published in the scientific journal Science Advances.
Run Robotics, a company based in Shanghai, China, has developed and demonstrated a robot whose structure combines human features in the upper part and animal features in the lower part. This robot has generated significant interest from the global community.
This robot, which resembles a mythological Centaur, was presented by the Chinese company at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026). The upper part of the robot is designed in a humanoid silhouette, while the lower section mimics a quadrupedal animal. Wheels have also been integrated into the robot's legs to enhance functionality.
The company stated that 95 percent of the components used in creating these robots were manufactured directly in China. The robots are designed to perform tasks that may be dangerous for humans. Furthermore, it was noted that this robot is capable of lifting weights from 100 to 120 kilograms. Thanks to the combination of legs and wheels, the robots can transport loads between different locations.
Run Robotics also reported that in the future, these devices could be used in rescue operations. Their ability to move safely and exit hazardous conditions makes them a valuable tool for search and rescue work.
