During a fast, the main goal is to find a dish that is simultaneously healthy, satisfying, and very tasty. If you are tired of monotonous fasting dishes made from plain potatoes, try including crispy and appetizing sabudana tikki in your diet. These tikki turn out very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while fully complying with fasting rules. Preparing this dish is quite simple, and it will help you stay energetic for a long time. Below is the simplest instruction for preparing them.
Ingredients
The following products are needed for preparation: sabudana (soaked) — 1 cup; boiled potatoes (mash) — 3 medium pieces; peanuts (roasted and finely ground) — half a cup; green pepper (finely chopped) — 2-3 pieces; ginger (grated) — 1 teaspoon; fresh cilantro (finely chopped) — 2-3 tablespoons; Sendha salt — to taste (special for fasting); black pepper powder — half a teaspoon; lemon juice — 1 teaspoon; ghee or peanut oil — for frying or deep frying.
Preparation Method
First, soak the sabudana for 3-4 hours, then drain all the excess water so that the grains remain loose and soft. In a large bowl, mix the soaked sabudana, mashed boiled potatoes, ground peanuts, chopped green pepper, ginger, and cilantro. Then add Sendha salt, black pepper powder, and lemon juice, mixing all components thoroughly to form a dough-like mass. Grease your hands with a small amount of ghee or oil, take a small portion of the mixture, and shape it into a round flat tikki. Repeat this procedure for all portions.
Heat 2-3 tablespoons of ghee or oil in a pan or tawa. Place the tikki on the hot surface and fry over medium heat on both sides until golden and crispy (you can use a semi-frying or deep-frying method). Serve the finished crispy tikki hot with a vegan sauce made from cilantro and yogurt or a sweet vegan sauce.
