According to the Ministry of Transport, on July 30 of this year, the first direct movement of a block train named 'Slavyansky Karavan' was launched from Orsha-Vostochnaya station in the Republic of Belarus to Chukursoy station in Uzbekistan. This event marks an important step in the transport and logistics cooperation between the two countries.
The creation of the new railway route will contribute to accelerating import and export operations, ensuring fast and reliable cargo delivery, and increasing the volume of mutual trade.
This project is a practical result of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus on July 9, 2026. During the negotiations, the parties defined tasks for organizing regular block train movements between the two countries.
As part of the implementation of these agreements, the movement of the first direct block train 'Slavyansky Karavan' has begun. The freight consist, consisting of 71 covered wagons, transports products from the processing industry in the forestry sector, sugar, food products, compound feed, and other types of goods. Initially, trips are planned twice a month, with the possibility of increasing the number of trips depending on cargo flow volumes being considered.
According to representatives, this route will not only increase the volume of freight transport between the two countries but also allow for the effective use of international transport corridors, reducing delivery times and lowering logistical costs. This, in turn, will create more favorable conditions for exporters and importers, increasing the competitiveness of foreign trade operations.
Furthermore, the new railway line will strengthen transport links between Central Asian and Eastern European countries, expand the geography of international freight transport, and enhance the capabilities for effectively utilizing the potential of regional logistics centers.

As part of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan 'On Social Partnership,' it was scheduled to hear final reports on the activities of regional branches of the Public Foundation for Supporting Civil Society Institutions at the Supreme Council and several non-governmental organizations receiving subsidies from the local budget, during a meeting of the Public Commission on Social Partnership under the Namangan Regional People's Deputies Council.
At the regular meeting of the Public Commission on Social Partnership under the Namangan Regional People's Deputies Council, reports were presented on the work of the Namangan Regional Branch of the Public Foundation for Supporting Civil Society Institutions at the Supreme Council, as well as organizations receiving state subsidies from the local budget for the past period of 2026.
At the meeting, conducted by the head of the regional branch of the Foundation for Supporting Social Initiatives 'Nuroni' – Senator Ikromkhon Nazhmiddinov, the activity of comprehensive support for civil society institutions, strengthening their role in society, and expanding their participation in solving social problems was discussed.
It was noted that state subsidies are allocated from the local budget to support the statutory activities of organizations such as the regional society of disabled persons, the society of the blind, the pensioners' society, and the association of disabled persons, which helps increase the efficiency of social services provided to the population.
In particular, a fund of almost 4.5 billion soums was allocated from the regional budget this year to support and protect persons with disabilities and limited physical abilities in the non-profit sector. These funds are directed towards improving the living conditions of society members, solving current issues, and activating the activities of production enterprises associated with these communities.
A critical evaluation of the activities of the regional society of disabled persons under the leadership of Azimjon Zoyilov was conducted, emphasizing the need to increase the responsibility of its chairman and fundamentally change the society's work. Conversely, it was recognized that the regional society of the blind under the leadership of Komiljon Sheraliyev does not limit itself to state aid but also receives income from additional sources for the moral and material stimulation of its members.
In accordance with the President's decree of August 26, 2024, 'On Measures for Further Improving the State Support System for Civil Society Institutions,' a new system of support for civil society institutions has been introduced. According to this document, the volume of support for non-governmental organizations through state grants, subsidies, and public procurement has been expanded. Selection processes are ensured by openness and transparency, and all projects are accepted through the electronic platform ngo.gov.uz.
Furthermore, special attention is paid to actively involving civil society institutions in solving current social problems in the regions, strengthening public control, and developing social partnership with state bodies. To ensure the implementation of the document, the first competition for state grants on the topic 'Involving Civil Society Institutions in Solving Social Problems in Namangan Region' was announced by the Public Foundation at the Supreme Council and its Namangan Regional Branch for 2026.
Within this competition, projects such as assistance in building a bridge across a canal running through the territory of Gavasoy mahalla in Chust district; equipping classrooms of the 15th general education school in Kosonsoy district with modern educational equipment; creating a modern library in School No. 25 of Ezgulik mahalla in Uychi district; solving the problems of residents of Farovon mahalla in Namangan city regarding green energy; assisting the population of Bekobodsk mahalla in Turakurgon district with electricity supply; and creating a modern workout area in Yuqori Qorayontoq mahalla in Yangiqurgon district to strengthen youth health, were submitted.
A total of 1 billion 180 million soums has been allocated for financing socially significant projects within this competition, which will be funded by republican and local budget funds. 34 projects were submitted to the competition by non-governmental organizations of Namangan region through the electronic platform. Work is currently underway to evaluate the projects based on established criteria.
Following the meeting, important tasks concerning the support of civil society institutions, further development of social partnership, increasing the effectiveness of state grants and subsidies, and solving pressing public problems in cooperation with non-governmental organizations were defined.
It is emphasized that the attention and care shown to non-governmental organizations contributes to strengthening the role of civil society institutions in societal development, effectively solving social problems in the regions, and elevating social partnership between the state and civil society to a new level.

The Chairman of the Committee of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, M. Atamuratov, congratulated the awardees and personally presented them with the badges. He wished them further success in their activities.

They were awarded for effective work in protecting the legitimate interests of youth, comprehensive support for young people, and enhancing the political and legal culture of students.
To strengthen the atmosphere of goodwill, solidarity, and interconnectedness among the population, and to transform mahallas into more prosperous and pleasant places, efforts to develop local communities have been intensified. The 'Improvement and Generosity' month has begun in Guliston District to ensure the fulfillment of tasks defined at the video-selection meeting under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Early in the morning, a public cleanup for improvement began in the Soyibobod mahalla of Guliston District, involving residents, youth, state institutions, as well as teams from enterprises and organizations. Streets, paths, and drainage ditches were cleaned. Agronomic work was carried out on trees, and their trunks were cleared. Additionally, gravel was laid on some internal roads, which improved travel conditions for residents.
The head of Guliston District also took part in the improvement works, familiarized himself with the actions carried out jointly with mahalla activists and youth, and gave relevant instructions to responsible persons.
Within the framework of the 'Improvement and Generosity' month, it is planned to intensify improvement and landscaping work in all 24 mahallas of the district. Events will also be held to ensure sanitation and cleanliness, organize internal streets, improve the territories of social facilities, and collect information about families in need.
Shuhrat Khushmurodov, head of the Guliston District branch of the Mahalla Society of Uzbekistan, emphasized that important tasks regarding the improvement of mahallas, the creation of decent living conditions for the population, and uniting people around good deeds were set at the video-selection meeting under the President's leadership. He noted that the 'Improvement and Generosity' month has been launched in every mahalla of the district to implement these instructions. Mahalla activists, youth, state institutions, and work collectives are actively participating in this process.
According to him, improvement is not just cleaning a street or yard, but strengthening the sense of belonging to the fate of one's mahalla, as well as forming an atmosphere of mutual help and goodwill in every person. Therefore, during the month, in addition to improvement work, systematic events demonstrating generosity will be organized.
It is emphasized that well-being in a mahalla begins with the activity of every household, every street, and above all, with the feeling of participation and solidarity among citizens. Thus, the 'Improvement and Generosity' month is designed not only to tidy up the territories but also to create a foundation for increasing positive values such as mutual respect, kindness, and solidarity among the population.
