Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian construction and engineering firm Friends for Engineering & Contracting. The goal of the negotiations was to discuss prospects for implementing investment projects in the construction sector, according to Dunyo Information Agency.
The meetings involved Commercial Director Muhammad Sultan and Business Development Manager Wael Abu Bakr. Company representatives noted the current socio-economic reforms and favorable investment climate in Uzbekistan. They expressed interest in entering the Uzbek market, making direct investments, and applying modern engineering and construction solutions.
The parties reviewed the potential for cooperation in the field of construction of hotels, residential complexes, and infrastructure facilities in Uzbekistan. The company proposed a project implementation model where the Uzbek side provides land plots, and Friends for Engineering & Contracting takes on the tasks of design, construction, and financing, using its own investment funds.
Following the meeting, representatives of the Egyptian firm stated their readiness to hold direct negotiations and online meetings with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, as well as with regional and municipal khokimiyats for detailed discussion of projects and preparation of specific investment proposals.
The Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan held negotiations on July 29 with a Chinese delegation. The delegation was headed by Zhang Xue, Director of the Center for Innovative Education and Real Estate Research, and the Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Cooperation Department of the China Real Estate Association.
The Chinese group included representatives from Chinese companies operating in the fields of construction and real estate, glass production, manufacturing of door and window systems, and interior design. During the meeting, the parties discussed Uzbekistan's investment potential, opportunities for exporting products of local manufacturers of building materials, and prospects for joint project implementation.
Members of the Chinese delegation were also presented with information about land plots available for investment initiatives, as well as existing transport and engineering infrastructure. At the conclusion of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on further joint development of investment initiatives and the promotion of practical implementation of promising projects.
In Tashkent, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia held a working meeting with the management of DOM.RF, one of the largest Russian organizations in the housing construction sector.
According to the embassy, the parties focused their discussion on the current state and potential of bilateral partnership in the field of housing construction. Special attention was paid to urban planning issues, the development of master plans, the implementation of digital technologies in the construction industry, as well as the training of qualified personnel for this sphere.
After the meeting concluded, participants confirmed their interest in expanding cooperation. An agreement was reached to continue contacts at the level of working groups involving relevant ministries, state bodies, and institutions of Uzbekistan.
