Students studying biology, biotechnology, and agronomy at Guliston State University now have the opportunity to complete industrial practice at a modern biotechnology factory. They can conduct scientific research in laboratories equipped according to international standards and master innovative technologies.
This activity is being implemented within the framework of a cooperation agreement between Guliston State University and the Agrointro biotechnology nursery. In this regard, the Vice-Rector of Guliston State University for Scientific Work and Innovations, Dilmurod Eshmurodov, and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Abduhakim Musurmanov, visited the Agrointro company to gain a more detailed understanding of its activities.
During the visit, issues such as organizing industrial practice for students, improving teachers' qualifications, implementing joint research projects, and introducing innovative developments into practice were discussed.
Today, Agrointro is considered one of the largest innovative biotechnology nurseries in the country. It operates on a territory of 20.4 hectares in the Gallaorol district, including a high-tech in vitro laboratory covering 3,500 square meters as part of the complex, 2 hectares of automated greenhouse farming, 18 hectares of the mother nursery, and a modern freezer warehouse. The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment from Viscon Group of the Netherlands, where the full technological cycle of microclonal propagation, growing virus- and bacterial-free seedlings, and their gradual adaptation to the external environment is established. The company also received an international ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certificate in 2025.
According to specialists, in vitro technology differs fundamentally from traditional horticulture. This method allows for the production of genetically stable, virus-free, and highly productive seedlings by propagating plant meristematic tissue in a sterile laboratory environment. This is important for increasing yields in intensive viticulture, fruit growing, and vegetable cultivation, as well as for ensuring food security and growing export products.
As part of the established cooperation, students reinforce theoretical knowledge gained in lectures on genetics, plant physiology, molecular biology, and biotechnology in the conditions of a modern laboratory and greenhouse. Under the guidance of specialists, they directly master practical skills such as working in a sterile environment, preparing nutrient media, microclonal propagation, plant acclimatization, quality control, and laboratory analysis.
Furthermore, master's and doctoral students have the opportunity to align their scientific research with production needs. Scientific investigations are planned for creating new varieties of fruit trees and agricultural crops that are resistant to diseases and highly productive, adapted to local soil and climatic conditions, within the framework of joint projects.
Dilmurod Eshmurodov, Vice-Rector of Guliston State University for Scientific Work and Innovations, emphasized: 'Our main goal is to equip students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills formed in a modern production environment. Cooperation with Agrointro company elevates the integration of education, science, and production to a new level. Natural resources are considered an invaluable asset of humanity. Protecting biodiversity in rivers, lakes, and water bodies, preserving fish stocks, and maintaining ecological balance have become one of the priority tasks of state policy. Therefore, a decisive fight is being waged in the country against the illegal use of natural resources, and non-compliance with legal requirements entails severe legal consequences.
During another control raid conducted by employees of the Ecology and Climate Change Department of the Bukhara region, a violation of the law was discovered in the 'Hadicha' natural lake, located in the Karavulbozor district.
The inspection revealed that citizens J.R., B.R., and I.U. were engaged in illegal fishing using prohibited nets, which contradicts the law and lacked appropriate permits.
The inspection results showed that they illegally caught 47 carp (zogar) and 71 Aral chavog, totaling 118 fish. According to specialists' calculations, this offense caused economic damage to the wildlife amounting to 126 million 72 thousand sums.
As part of the operational measures, a rubber boat used during the offense, prohibited fishing nets, and other fishing gear were seized, and the caught fish was documented as material evidence according to established procedures. Given the seriousness of the situation and the amount of damage caused, a criminal case has been initiated against the perpetrators. This once again confirms that any attempts to plunder natural resources will be strictly assessed under the law.
Today, the illegal catching of several fish is viewed not just as a minor offense, but as a serious crime that harms the entire ecosystem. This is because every fish is an integral part of the natural balance of water bodies, the biological chain, and natural resources that must be preserved for future generations.
Any encroachment on nature will not go unpunished. In the context of ensuring the rule of law in the country, decisive measures are being taken against environmental offenses, which serves as an important warning to all citizens. Nature conservation is not only the duty of state bodies but also the conscious duty of every person, as conserved nature today is the healthy lifestyle of tomorrow and a worthy heritage for coming generations.
