According to the forecast, the formation of convective clouds is most likely in the eastern and southern parts of the country, which may be accompanied by rainfall. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will be 46°C. The minimum values will be 34°C in Dubai, 32°C in Abu Dhabi, and 31°C in Sharjah, respectively.
Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from southeast to northeast at a speed of 10 to 25 km/h. During periods of cloud activity, wind speeds may increase, reaching 40 km/h. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman are expected to remain minor.
Residents in areas where cloud formation is expected are advised to monitor current forecasts, as weather conditions can change throughout the day. Ahmed Habib, an NCM meteorologist, explained to Khaleej Times that the ongoing El Niño wave may be the cause of precipitation in the country. It should be noted that Thursday was the hottest day, when a temperature of 49°C was recorded in Tawayen (Fujairah) at 1:30 PM UAE local time.

By Friday, the upper atmospheric system will continue its movement southward, leading to an overall decrease in cloud cover across the Emirates. A slight chance of rain will persist, concentrated mainly in the Al Ain area.
This period of rain occurred when temperatures in the UAE occasionally reached 50°C. Although rain during such extreme heat may seem unusual, experts explain that high temperatures promote the development of convective clouds due to increased surface heating.
However, intense heat alone is not sufficient for precipitation. The appearance of rain requires a combination of crucial atmospheric conditions, including sufficient humidity, the influence of moist air masses, upper atmospheric domes, atmospheric instability, and favorable wind patterns.
When these critical elements coincide with intense summer heat, cloud and precipitation development becomes possible, providing a brief respite from the scorching heat.
The current period follows a series of convective weather events that passed over the UAE in recent days. On Wednesday, July 29, NCM issued an orange warning due to heavy rains, dust storms, and strong winds hitting Dubai and other parts of the country, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h and reducing horizontal visibility in several places.
The day before, some parts of the eastern region, including Masafih and areas north of Al Ain, recorded rain and hail. The meteorological department also issued yellow warnings for dust storms and rain on July 28, as convective cloud activity continued to affect the country in the middle of summer.

He added that the influence of El Niño will be felt in the region starting in autumn, particularly in October and November, whereas currently, during the summer period, its impact is stronger in East Asia than in West Asia. In the UAE, this will lead to an increased chance of precipitation.
