According to an official representative of commerce, China and the European Union (EU) have agreed to hold a second meeting of the mechanism for consultations on trade and investment between China and the EU in the autumn period.
Preparation for Meetings
Over the past month, both sides have been actively implementing the results of the first meeting and finalizing all preparations for the second. This was reported by He Yadong, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, during a regular press briefing held after intensive consultations between the two parties.
Work Group Activities
Working groups from both sides have conducted over twenty consultations. Four areas of work within the Mechanism for Consultations on Trade and Investment between China and the EU have carried out in-depth and professional exchanges of views regarding each other's economic and trade issues, as clarified by He.
China's Position
China expressed its readiness to maintain a high pace of communication with the EU, mutually respect each other, and work together to find practical and implementable solutions to trade and economic issues of mutual interest. The goal is to promote balanced and positive development of bilateral trade, as well as maintain the stability and balance of the key trade partnership between China and the EU.
