Asus has introduced the ultra-thin Zenbook A16 (UX3607OA) notebook to the Brazilian market, which is equipped with the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor developed by Qualcomm. This 16-inch device was announced this Thursday, July 30th, and represents the arrival of Qualcomm's most modern ARM architecture platform for computers in the country.
Specifications and Launch Price
The Zenbook A16 features a 120 Hz OLED screen and weighs only 1.2 kg. The brand guarantees a battery life of up to 21 hours. The suggested initial price for the device is R$ 22,999, but there is a promotional cash offer of R$ 20,699.10. The model carries the Copilot+ PC seal, indicating its high performance, in addition to offering local artificial intelligence support and long battery life, according to the manufacturer.
Design and Screen Quality
Despite being a 16-inch notebook, the Zenbook A16 maintains high portability, weighing only 1.2 kg and having a thickness ranging from 1.38 cm to 1.65 cm. Its construction uses Ceraluminum, an exclusive Asus material that combines ceramic and aluminum, aiming to reduce weight and increase durability. The available finish is matte, in Zabriskie Beige color.
Regarding the display, Asus equipped the notebook with a Lumina OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. This panel ensures 100% coverage of the DCI-p3 gamut and underwent factory calibration with a Delta-E below 1. It promises a fluid visual experience, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a response time of 0.2 ms. For HDR content, the panel has the VESA DisplayHDR True Black certification, reaching a peak brightness of up to 1,100 nits. Additionally, it has TÜV Rheinland certification for blue light mitigation and the ASUS OLED Care feature to prevent burn-in.
Performance with Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme
The main differentiator of the Zenbook A16 lies in its processor: the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme (X2E-94-100). This is a cutting-edge Qualcomm chip designed for ARM PCs, containing 18 CPU cores, 12 of which are high-performance. The system also integrates a Qualcomm Adreno GPU and a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, capable of processing up to 80 TOPS. This Neural Processing Unit is crucial for accelerating local AI tasks on Windows 11 and in the Microsoft Copilot+ features and the MyASUS application itself.
The configuration sold in Brazil comes with 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with a bandwidth of 228 GB/s, and a 512 GB NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Battery and Advanced Connectivity
Asus estimates that the ultrabook offers about 21 hours of use with its 70 Wh battery, composed of four lithium-ion cells. Charging is done via USB-C, and a 130 W adapter accompanies the product. The manufacturer states that the notebook can recover up to 50% of its charge in just 30 minutes.
Even with its compact design, the Zenbook A16 preserves a wide range of physical connections. It features two USB 4 Type-C ports, capable of reaching up to 40 Gb/s and supporting DisplayPort and Power Delivery; one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port; one HDMI 2.1 input; an SD card reader 4.0; and a 3.5 mm P2 connector. In terms of wireless connectivity, the model supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
