The initiative named Mais Motoristas reached a historic milestone by registering 138,586 inscriptions in its most recent edition. This number demonstrates an expressive increase of 150% when compared to the first public notice, held in 2023, which accounted for 55,550 applications.
This program aims to offer free category changes for the National Driver's License (CNH), in addition to providing professional training. The focus is on preparing drivers to work in cargo and passenger transport sectors. The full funding of the project is the responsibility of SEST SENAT. Created specifically to train new driving professionals, the program covers the transition of the CNH to categories C, D, and E. SEST SENAT covers all involved costs, including license change fees and specialized training courses, which are conducted at the Professional Drivers School or other accredited institutions.
Participating registered individuals are currently in the classification phase, following the rules established in the official public notice. The first list of called candidates will be released on August 3rd, at which time the detailed schedule for subsequent calls will also be published. Selected candidates must receive instructions via email to submit the necessary documentation within the defined deadlines; failure to comply with this step will result in automatic cancellation of the registration.
The ordering of participants will be based on social inclusion criteria and income level. Priority is first given to women registered in the Unified Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Next come other candidates who have registration in CadÚnico. Subsequently, women who are not enrolled in the social program are considered, and finally, the general public.
In all priority groups, preference will be given to individuals who do not have formal employment ties, i.e., unemployed, and to those who have a higher number of direct dependents. In addition to creating new sources of income and job opportunities for workers, the qualification offered by the program contributes to raising safety standards on the roads and mitigating the lack of drivers in road freight and passenger transport throughout the national territory.
The Conta Lá employees have not received their salary for the month of July and are awaiting a general assembly to define the future of the project. Ribeiro clarified that although a solution is being worked on to ensure the viability of the project, the final outcome will depend on the general shareholders' meeting, which is scheduled for August 6th. Until that date, he will not be able to disclose concrete news about the payment of outstanding salaries and credits, committing to informing all workers with maximum speed and transparency after the general assembly's decision.
