A working group of the Environmental Party faction in the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan studied the activities of mahallas and environmental issues in the Nukus and Kegeyli districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, under the leadership of faction head Abdushukr Khamzaev.
Initially, the working group met with a gathering of citizens in the 'Dehqon Arna' mahalla of the Nukus district and held a meeting with the 'Mahalla Yettiligi'. The mahalla head, M. Aminov, presented detailed information on the socio-economic situation of the region, employment of the population, and ongoing work. This mahalla has 3611 residents, 836 households, and 86 unemployed individuals.
Members of the working group visited two households to personally speak with residents. They congratulated the residents on the holiday and examined their living conditions, problems, and suggestions. Issues discussed included improving the welfare of the population, ensuring employment, developing entrepreneurship, increasing family incomes, and strengthening socio-economic stability in the mahallas.
Furthermore, there was an exchange of views regarding measures taken in the field of territory improvement, expansion of green zones, encouragement of planting picturesque avenues, ensuring sanitary and ecological cleanliness, effective management of household waste, and raising the ecological culture of the population.
Afterward, the working group visited the Karakalpakstan Scientific and Experimental Station at the Research Institute of Forestry. Specialists provided detailed information about the station's activities, research directions, and implemented innovative projects.
It was noted that this station was established based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 31, 2023, 'On Measures to Organize the Activities of the Central Asian University for Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University),' and the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution dated October 28, 2024, 'On Measures for Further Improving Scientific Research in the Field of Forestry.'
Currently, the station covers a total area of 66.03 hectares, of which 9.83 hectares are located in the 'Qutankul' area of the Nukus district. A nursery of 3 hectares and a selection garden of 2 hectares have been created on this area.
In addition, a halophyte plant garden was established on an area of 56.2 hectares in the village of 'Samanboy' in the Nukus district. Scientific experiments on halophytic plants adapted to saline soils are being conducted on 10 hectares of this garden. Currently, seeds of halophytic plants imported from China and local varieties have been planted on an area of 4.2 hectares, and experimental and industrial work is ongoing.
The station employs 22 staff members who conduct scientific research in three laboratories: on growing and propagating desert forest plants, cultivating fodder crops on degraded lands, and protecting forest plants from diseases and pests.
In the afternoon, the working group visited a gathering of citizens in the 'Madaniyat' mahalla of the Kegeyli district. There, the activities of the mahalla, the work carried out by the 'Mahalla Yettiligi', and the living conditions of the population were studied.
This mahalla has 4130 residents, 933 households, with 1836 women and 1209 young people. Representatives of the working group visited the homes of the mahalla residents and held an open dialogue with the citizens, learning about their living conditions, and warmly congratulating them on the upcoming Independence Day.
The deputies also familiarized themselves with the forestry activities of the Kegeyli district. During the study, processes of seedling cultivation, measures to ensure the district has quality trees, and work to increase the forest fund were inspected.
According to data, the total area of the enterprise is 4419 hectares, of which 1979.29 hectares are desert areas and 2439 hectares are forest masses. Saplings of oak, ash, birch, aspen, jeyda, and mulberry are grown in the enterprise. Additionally, a plantation of 6000 mulberry saplings has been planted on an area of 16 hectares, and care is being taken for 6000 jeyda saplings on an area of 14 hectares.
Following the visit, the working group put forward relevant recommendations and proposals regarding the need for the continuous continuation of work to improve the welfare of the population in the mahallas, enhance ecological culture, expand green zones, enrich the forest fund, implement scientific developments into practice, and comprehensively develop the territories.
One of the most important criteria for societal development is recognizing human value, reliably protecting their rights and interests, and ensuring access to quality medical services. A particularly relevant task today is the regular assessment of conditions in institutions dealing with mental health, which allows for improving service quality and taking into account staff opinions.
For this purpose, A. Khuseinova, a deputy of Viloyat Kengashi from the group of people's deputies, conducted another monitoring visit at the branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Psychiatric Service.
During the monitoring, a comprehensive evaluation of the institution's work was carried out. First and foremost, an open dialogue was organized with doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to discuss their daily activities, working conditions, and problems arising in the work process.
In addition, the mechanism for ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, the effectiveness of handling appeals, the quality of medical services, as well as the socio-labor conditions created in the institution were analyzed in detail. A number of proposals aimed at improving the institution's activities, increasing the quality of service, and creating more convenient conditions for the population were discussed.
During the meeting, an open discussion took place about pressing issues that concern the staff, and their suggestions were carefully listened to. Corresponding recommendations were developed for each issue raised, and opinions on developing practical solutions were expressed.
Such monitoring plays an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability in the healthcare system, supporting the professional activities of medical workers, and further improving the quality of medical services provided to the population. Above all, such practical actions serve as clear evidence that human health and dignity are highly valued in state policy.
The VI International Festival of Poetry and Art 'Silk Road' took place in the city of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. This significant international cultural event brought together poets, writers, translators, artists, scientists, and cultural representatives from various countries around the world.
According to a message from the Information Agency of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, creative figures from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan gathered at the festival. They exchanged their literary heritage, examples of national poetry, and creative experience on one stage.
Sirojiddin Rauf, chief editor of the magazine 'Sharq Yulduzi', noted that the festival is designed to strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties formed between the peoples of the Great Silk Road over centuries. The main idea of the event was to promote concepts of peace and solidarity through poetry, art, and cultural dialogue. At the festival, national poets of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayid, Usmon Azim, Khurshid Davron, as well as the national poet of Karakalpakstan Rustam Musurmon, were recognized. Additionally, creative figures Sirojiddin Rauf, Gairat Majid, Kutlibek Rakhimbayev, Salim Ashur, Shodi Otamurod, and Nargiza Asadova were awarded.
The Writers' Union of Uzbekistan traditionally presented awards for poetry, 'Poet Laureate', 'Golden Thuja', and 'Silver Thuja' to the festival winners.
The 'Silk Road' Festival confirms that the rich cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road continues to function as a spiritual bridge uniting peoples and represents a modern literary and cultural realization of friendship, solidarity, and creative cooperation between nations.
In the New Uzbekistan, a key criterion for implementing reforms is increasing human value and ensuring that the needs and problems of every citizen are not ignored. Thanks to the President's initiative, the social protection system for the population has reached a completely new level. Special attention is paid to supporting people with disabilities, lonely elderly people, and those who need care from others, which has become one of the main directions of state policy. Good deeds carried out in local communities today are a practical reflection of this humane policy and find their embodiment in the lives of citizens.
Systematic work is being carried out in the 'Qozikent' mahalla of the Jondor district of Bukhara region to provide social support to the population, targeted assistance to needy families, as well as care for people with disabilities and lonely elderly people. This mahalla has 3375 residents, and social worker Salohiddin Bahridinov carries out his activities based on the principle of individual work with every needy citizen. This approach allows for studying the needs of each person and providing them with appropriate social services.
Currently, there are 80 people with disabilities living in the mahalla. Four of them have been involved in adaptive sports classes, which has given them the opportunity to participate in physical activity and social life. In addition, 14 citizens have been employed, and suitable conditions have been created for their independent living. Also, 33 needy people have received orthopedic prosthetics and technical rehabilitation aids.
Elderly people living alone are also under the attention of the state and society. Currently, three lonely elderly people are under constant social protection. As part of the 'Step to Active Life' program, household and social services are regularly provided at home to five citizens who need care from others.
The results of these good deeds are clearly demonstrated by the example of Tamara Zulfikorova, who lives with her sister Norgul Boboyeva. The mahalla social worker added Tamara to the register of lonely elderly people and launched a targeted assistance system. This assistance included referral to a sanatorium for health recovery, medical examination, free provision of necessary medicines, and allocation of financial aid. Additionally, within the framework of the 'Step to Active Life' program, home-based domestic support was organized. One-time financial aid was provided on the occasion of the autumn-winter period and the Ramadan holiday, and regular compensation payments are made on time.
An important moment was the installation of a modern solar panel in this house at the initiative of sponsors. This not only helps reduce electricity costs but also improves the family's living conditions. Such practical help is not just material support, but a vivid example of attention, love, and care for a person.
The work being done in the 'Qozikent' mahalla today once again confirms the truth: in a society where people are valued, no one is left without attention. Obtaining information about the condition of every needy person, listening to their problems, and finding practical solutions has become a way of life in the mahalla. Good deeds in the 'Qozikent' mahalla are another bright proof that the interests of the individual have become the main measure of all reforms in New Uzbekistan. These charitable initiatives, based on the principle 'For the Value of Man' put forward by the head of state, strengthen the atmosphere of compassion, solidarity, and social justice in society. Most importantly, such endeavors strengthen citizens' faith in a better future, demonstrating in practice that no one is alone, and the state and society are always there for them.
