The contest is a public project dedicated to highlighting topics related to women in Uzbek Wikipedia, specifically their rights, place in society, and activities. Shohzahon Sobirov, head of the 'WikiMarafon' project, stated that the contest's goals include supporting women's activity on digital platforms, stimulating their participation in the project, developing a culture of working with information and using reliable sources, as well as demonstrating intellectual potential and increasing the social engagement of young women.
This contest enhances young women's information literacy and develops their skills in using reliable sources, while also increasing their activity in disseminating knowledge about women. Furthermore, the contest helps widely promote the achievements of women in various spheres of social life. By holding this contest, organizers also contribute to raising public awareness about the role and successes of women in science, education, culture, art, and sports, as well as their contribution to societal development.
The contest is organized in one stage and takes place in an online format. It will run until August 22, and results will be announced by August 25. The contest is an individual competition, and participation requires registration through @WikiTanlov_bot. After registration, participants must complete 30 tests based on articles about women in Uzbek Wikipedia, as well as on courses from the 'Qizlar Akademiyasi' platform: 'Financial Literacy,' 'Fashion,' and 'Research Fundamentals.' Testing will take place on August 23, with one minute allocated for each question.
To take the test, participants must invite three friends via a special link from the @WikiTanlov_bot and upload a certificate obtained from the 'Qizlar Akademiyasi' platform. Participants who register through the bot can join a special promotion contest by sharing a specific link provided by the bot. Each invited friend earns the participant one referral point. In case of a tie in test scores, the deciding factor will be the time spent completing the test; the participant with higher additional results will have the advantage. Results will be communicated to participants within three days. Participants who rank highly will receive commemorative gifts, and all participants will receive an electronic certificate regardless of the result.
