Increased activity is observed in all segments of the automotive market. The secondary market for light vehicles accounted for about 61% of the total transaction volume. Moreover, the growth rate of the secondary market (16%) exceeded the growth rate of the primary market (11%).
The Center for Economic Research and Reforms regularly analyzes the dynamics of activity in the automotive market of Uzbekistan, covering changes across main segments and regions. By the end of June, the volume of vehicle trade exceeded 80.2 thousand units, which is 18% more compared to May.
In most regions of the republic, the turnover of motor vehicles increased in June. A slight decrease of 2.2% was recorded only in the Jizzakh region.
The highest growth rates were noted in the regions of Surkhandarya (33.7%), Khorezm (32.6%), as well as Syrdarya (29%), Samarkand (28.3%), Kashkadarya (26.2%), and Andijan (26%).
In the city of Tashkent, the trade of motor vehicles grew by 9% compared to the previous month, reaching 17.9 thousand units. The volume of light vehicle trade in June reached 61.4 thousand, which is 14% higher than in May. Sales of new light vehicles grew by 11%, amounting to 24 thousand units. Local production cars contributed the main share to this growth, with sales increasing by 12% to reach 18.8 thousand.
Trade in new light vehicles produced abroad amounted to 5.1 thousand units, which is almost 7% more than last month. For the first half of 2026, sales of new light vehicles grew by 3.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 157 thousand.
The volume of used light vehicle trade in June exceeded 37 thousand, showing a growth of more than 16%. For the first half of 2026, the volume of light vehicle trade in the secondary market amounted to almost 240 thousand, which is 18% less than in the corresponding period last year.
In June, sales of electric vehicles in both the primary and secondary markets reached 8.4 thousand units, which is 63.5% more than in May of this year. For the first half of 2026, over 40 thousand electric vehicles were sold, which is 40% more than the previous year.
In most regions of the republic, market activity increased. A decrease was recorded only in the Syrdarya region, amounting to 2.9%. The largest growth among regions was shown by the Jizzakh region (101%), Bukhara region (64.6%), and Fergana region (58.5%).
The main share of electric vehicle sales belongs to the city of Tashkent, which accounted for almost 63% of the total market volume in June. In the capital, sales grew by 78% compared to May, reaching 5.3 thousand units.

The introduction of a new testing method for gels, ointments, and other topical medicinal products within the Eurasian Economic Union may be implemented. This was reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The EEC Expert Committee approved the draft changes to the rules for conducting bioequivalence studies of medicinal products. According to this draft, artificial membranes can be used instead of donor skin when testing gels and ointments.
According to the Commission, this approach is a modern replacement for complex and expensive studies, which allows for the simplification of the testing process and reduction of manufacturers' costs.
Bioequivalence studies are conducted to compare the properties of alternative drugs with an already known medicinal product. Furthermore, the Expert Committee approved documents concerning microbiological monitoring during drug production and the uniform display of active substance names in applications and the unified register.
The Minister of Technical Regulation of the EEC, Alexander Subbotin, announced that an agreement has been reached on the discussed issues. However, the changes have not been finalized yet. It is planned that the projects will be reviewed by the EEC Collegium between August and October.
Extensive reforms are underway in the Tashkent region aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of medical services, as well as organizing primary health care in accordance with modern requirements and digitizing the industry.
In accordance with the President's decree, 10 billion soums were allocated from local budget funds. Based on the Yangiyul Medical Association, the Yangiyul City Health Department was established. It includes a central hospital with 435 beds and two family polyclinics capable of serving up to 1350 patients per day.
According to Feruza Rakhmatullaeva, Deputy Head of the Tashkent Region Health Department, these efforts have resulted in the creation of comfortable waiting areas for patients and the organization of modern reception desks based on the Turkish model in medical institutions. Places for people with disabilities and elderly citizens have been installed, wards have been renovated to meet sanitary standards, and special sanitary rooms for people with disabilities have been created. Furthermore, the building lighting system has been completely updated, ensuring more comfortable conditions for patients.
In addition, under the '90 Days of Change in Medicine' project, work was carried out across all medical institutions in the region on five target and eighteen sustainable directions, opening up new opportunities for both medical workers and the population. Special attention is paid to the digitalization of the sector. Specifically, patients have been given the option to book appointments with doctors independently through info kiosks in polyclinics, as well as online appointment booking.
The full implementation of the 'Electronic Prescription' and 'Reimbursement' systems ensures transparency in medical services. Paperwork in family polyclinics has noticeably decreased. The digitalization of all areas and medical documents helps eliminate bureaucratic obstacles, reduce human error, and prevent corruption risks. Significant steps have also been taken to strengthen the material and technical base of medical institutions.
This year, 270 computer complexes worth 1.7 billion soums were delivered to city and district medical associations from local budget funds. Additionally, another 551 computer complex and hardware and communication equipment worth 8 billion soums were purchased and transferred to the institutions.
Currently, local computer networks have been introduced in 264 medical institutions in the region, and a unified digital medical information system has been fully launched. To constantly monitor the quality of medical services and respond promptly to citizens' appeals, the region has equipped 103 call centers with modern communication equipment. 868 million soums were allocated for this, and the 'Digital Healthcare Center' – 'Situational Center' – has been commissioned.
As a result of these reforms, the quality, openness, and convenience of medical services in the Tashkent region are constantly growing, contributing to the provision of modern, fast, and high-quality medical care to every citizen.
