Twenty-year-old sisters Jessie and Dililah Combs have unveiled their new clothing line, 12TWINTY1, showcasing stylish street designs. This fashion brand aims to immortalize the legacy of their mother, supermodel Kim Porter.
Inspiration from Mother
The Combs twins, who frequently appeared on red carpets with a well-known family for a long time, are now taking an independent step at the age of 19. They founded their own clothing line called 12TWINTY1. The name comes from their birth date—December 21st (12/21). The symmetry of the numbers reflects their close bond as twins while also emphasizing their individuality.
Kim Porter's Legacy
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the sisters stated that their main source of inspiration is their mother, model and actress Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018. Dililah shared her thoughts, saying that Kim Porter was 'a blueprint for everyone walking this earth,' and she is confident that her mother would be proud that they are making their dreams come true, as they wanted to create a clothing line even when they were three years old.
The sisters also mentioned that designer and television host Kimora Lee Simmons, who serves as a mentor, constantly gives them advice. Jessie shared that they often turn to her for help, and Kimora always advises: 'Make sure you love the fabric, make sure you love what you are doing, because it will be your baby.'
Collection 777
The brand's first collection is named 777. It combines 1990s hip-hop style with 2000s streetwear. The clothing is designed as casual unisex streetwear, including loose t-shirts, tank tops, and comfortable tracksuits. The sisters aimed to make the collection simple, comfortable, and versatile so that anyone, regardless of gender or size, could wear it.
To support the launch of the collection, even their older brothers—Quincy, Justin, and King Combs—participated in the fashion show.
Independence and Father's Support
During the interview, the sisters noted that despite the negative press their father receives, they are not afraid to be public. Jessie emphasized that criticism directed at their father should not extend to their brand, stating: 'People don't understand that just because he is our father, it doesn't mean his press is our press. Our clothing line belongs to us; it is not his.' She added that they are separate individuals.
The sisters said they wanted to launch the clothing line at an earlier age, but now is the right time as they are becoming adults and reaching 19. Jessie also mentioned that their relationship with their father is excellent, and he is very competent in this matter, regularly providing them with assistance. Dililah added that their father always persistently told them that success does not come easily but requires hard work and time, and this advice greatly influenced them.
