Eicher Motors (EML), the manufacturer of Royal Enfield motorcycles, reported a 21% increase in net profit for the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year. Profit amounted to 1,463 crore rupees, compared to 1,205 crore rupees in the quarter from April to June 2026 fiscal year.
First Quarter Financial Results
Operating revenue grew by 32% year-on-year, reaching 6,632 crore rupees. The EBITDA margin increased by 32%, reaching a record 1,591 crore rupees, compared to 1,203 crore rupees in the same quarter last fiscal year.
The rise in net profit was driven by improved sales figures. Royal Enfield registered its highest quarterly sales in history—332,940 motorcycles, which is 27% more than the 261,326 motorcycles in the corresponding quarter.
Investments and Production Expansion
The board of directors approved an investment of 1,225 crore rupees for the first phase of construction of a new plant in Andhra Pradesh. At full capacity, this new facility will be able to produce an additional 450,000 motorcycles annually. Completion of this expansion is planned during the 2030 fiscal year, provided market conditions remain stable.
Furthermore, Royal Enfield announced plans to acquire a land parcel in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, to establish a new manufacturing site. This project, involving investments of approximately 2,500 crore rupees, will be implemented in phases and aims to increase the company's production capacity to meet future market demand.
VE Commercial Vehicles Results
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) also demonstrated record sales in the first quarter, selling 24,815 vehicles, which is higher than the 21,610 units from the previous year. VECV's revenue in the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year was 6,610 crore rupees, showing a growth of 16.6% compared to 5,671 crore rupees. Quarterly EBITDA increased by 6.1% to 541 crore rupees from 511 crore rupees the previous year, and profit after tax reached 300 crore rupees versus 288 crore rupees last year.

B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and CEO of Royal Enfield, noted that the current quarter was historic for Royal Enfield due to the commencement of deliveries of the electric motorcycle Flying Flea C6. He emphasized that the early positive response to the FF.C6 confirms the company's vision for creating a new category of premium urban electric mobility. An updated lineup was also presented with the release of the iconic Bullet on the 650 cc platform.
B Srinivas, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, expressed delight at achieving the best first quarter, noting sales of 24,815 units, which is 14.8% more than last year. He also mentioned the company maintaining its leadership position in the LMD truck market. In addition to financial results, he spoke about promoting modernization in India's commercial vehicle sector, stating that the launch of the Volvo FMX Edge is intended to transform productivity in the mining industry through a combination of optimized payload, superior safety, uptime, and overall lifecycle value.
