Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held talks with representatives of Saudi companies The Health Holding Company (HHC) and The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO). These representatives arrived as part of an official delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The parties focused on several key aspects: modernization of Uzbekistan's medical and pharmaceutical sectors, implementation of projects in the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, improving the investment climate, and creating high-tech production facilities with the participation of foreign partners.
During the meeting, issues regarding optimizing supply chains and the production of pharmaceutical products, implementing modern methods in state procurement systems, technology transfer, logistics development, attracting investments, and prospects for joint ventures were also discussed.
The Health Holding Company is a state entity of Saudi Arabia that participates in transforming the kingdom's national healthcare system in accordance with the Vision 2030 strategy. In turn, The National Unified Procurement Company acts as a state operator specializing in centralized procurement and uninterrupted supply of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare technologies.
Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to expand practical interaction in the field of pharmaceuticals. This cooperation will cover investments, joint projects, technology transfer, and the production of modern medicinal products.
The memorandum was signed during the visit of the Saudi delegation to Uzbekistan. The delegation was headed by Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jaladjel. During this visit, a Uzbek-Saudi business dialogue took place, as well as a round table with the participation of representatives from state bodies, medical institutions, and the private sector.
The Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdullo Azizov, presented the Saudi side with information about the current reforms in Uzbekistan. These reforms are aimed at modernizing the pharmaceutical industry, developing high value-added production, attracting foreign investment, and increasing the country's export potential.
Participants were also introduced to the pharmaceutical innovation group BioPharma City. This project envisions the creation of infrastructure for scientific research, innovative production, biotechnological development, and international cooperation.

The parties plan to develop investment partnerships, implement joint initiatives, carry out technology transfer, and establish the production of modern medications. Bilateral meetings and negotiations between representatives of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia continue within the framework of the official visit of the Saudi delegation.
The leadership of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency held a meeting in Tashkent with Hassan Hamza Hashim, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed promising areas for interaction in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals. The Agency's Director, Abdullah Azizov, presented information on the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical sector.
He detailed measures aimed at increasing local production, implementing international GMP and GPP standards, ensuring the quality and safety of medicines, as well as developing Uzbekistan as a regional center for medicine and pharmaceuticals in Central Asia.
During the negotiations, participants examined opportunities for joint work in areas such as genomics, the creation of biobanks, regenerative medicine, the application of artificial intelligence technologies, conducting clinical trials, and implementing innovative projects.
Particular attention was paid to establishing contacts with leading universities, scientific centers, and private companies in Qatar. Furthermore, projects related to technology transfer, specialist training, and attracting investments were discussed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the dialogue to expand practical cooperation, strengthen direct institutional ties, and implement joint projects in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals.
