The leadership of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency held a meeting in Tashkent with Hassan Hamza Hashim, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Discussion of Cooperation Areas
The parties discussed promising areas for interaction in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals. The Agency's Director, Abdullah Azizov, presented information on the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical sector.
He detailed measures aimed at increasing local production, implementing international GMP and GPP standards, ensuring the quality and safety of medicines, as well as developing Uzbekistan as a regional center for medicine and pharmaceuticals in Central Asia.
Potential Projects and Technologies
During the negotiations, participants examined opportunities for joint work in areas such as genomics, the creation of biobanks, regenerative medicine, the application of artificial intelligence technologies, conducting clinical trials, and implementing innovative projects.
Particular attention was paid to establishing contacts with leading universities, scientific centers, and private companies in Qatar. Furthermore, projects related to technology transfer, specialist training, and attracting investments were discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the dialogue to expand practical cooperation, strengthen direct institutional ties, and implement joint projects in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals.
