China's multi-purpose civilian drone TR200 successfully completed its first test flight in Shandong province. According to Xinhua News Agency, this is the country's first unmanned aerial vehicle capable of carrying heavy loads and belonging to the one-ton class. It is capable of covering a distance of up to 3000 kilometers.
According to a manufacturer's representative, the aircraft's maximum cruising speed reaches 200 kilometers per hour. When fully loaded, the drone can remain airborne for over 24 hours and ascend to an altitude of up to 7000 meters. A runway of only 300 meters is required for takeoff and landing.
Chief designer Fan Liang noted that during the first flight, the TR200 demonstrated excellent flight and short-distance landing performance, and its stability was better than expected. He also confirmed that the engineering calculations and system compatibility have been fully verified.
It is emphasized that the new design is assembled entirely from locally sourced spare parts. Thanks to its modular design, the TR200 can be adapted for various tasks, including firefighting, delivering goods to remote areas, patrolling, and environmental monitoring. China has previously conducted tests on its first hybrid cargo drone in the world.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that unmanned aerial vehicles capable of covering distances from 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers will appear in Ukraine next year. This information was shared by him in an interview with Lori Lumer, a blogger from the MAGA movement who is a close associate of Trump.
According to the head of state, drones capable of flying over 3,000 kilometers are currently in use in Ukraine. This year, it is planned to add drones that will achieve a flight range of 4,000 km.
The President also noted Ukraine's aspiration to conclude a large-scale agreement on drone production with the USA. The first stage of this cooperation has already been implemented, and the document for the next stage is almost ready. He expressed hope for the swift signing of this agreement together with President Trump.
Kyiv is promoting the idea of creating a joint venture for drone production in the United States. Ukrainian drone manufacturers can join this project, and private business will participate in implementing this initiative.
Zelensky emphasized how rapidly the drone system is changing due to technological advancements. The Ukrainian leader stressed that new models appear every three to six months, so continuous drone production must be ensured, rather than stockpiling them in warehouses.
