The modern Shohrukh Library, which began its activities in the Zomin district of Jizzakh region, has been supplemented with another important educational initiative. The library's fund was enriched with 1000 books provided by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which made a significant contribution to expanding reading opportunities for the population, especially young people.
As part of this educational event, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Akqulov, visited the library. He was accompanied by Sardor Shukurullaev, Deputy Head of the Jizzakh region for tourism, culture, cultural heritage, and mass communications, and Alisher Abduganiev, the head of the Zomin district.
During the visit, a detailed review of the library's activities, the conditions created for readers, and its modern infrastructure was conducted. Currently, this knowledge center houses over 50 thousand books. It features a 100-seat reading hall, an electronic library, a 'Book Cafe', a bookstore, and printing services. This creates a favorable environment not only for reading but also for scientific research, educational events, and creative meetings.
The provision of 1000 books by the Tourism Committee further expanded the potential of this knowledge center. It is expected that the new publications will enrich the knowledge and worldview of readers of all age groups, as well as enhance their intellectual potential.
Experts emphasize that tourism and spirituality are mutually complementary important areas. Modern libraries form a positive image of Uzbekistan's rich spiritual heritage, reading traditions, and intellectual atmosphere among both the local population and foreign guests of the country.
The receipt of 1000 books into the fund of 'Shohrukh Kutubxonasi' is an important practical step aimed at supporting the younger generation's desire for knowledge acquisition and strengthening the culture of reading in line with the aforementioned noble goals.
In recent years, the attention paid to the development of national literature has opened broader opportunities for translating and publishing works of Uzbek creators into world languages. The work of Khabib Siddiq, a member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, a renowned poet, publicist, playwright, and translator, was published in the Kazakh language by the 'Dimal' publishing house (Chimkent).
This book features satirical and humorous works written by the author over different years and translated into Kazakh by the poet Eldor Tatiyev. These works attract readers due to their humorous nature, unexpected solutions, deep social content, and philosophical conclusions.
Khabib Siddiq is a talented writer, scientist, playwright, and translator, born on April 12, 1953, in Butaqora village, Tashkent district. He graduated from Pakhtachitsky (now the Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnology) in Andijan and spent many years engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities at this institute.
Currently, he is the head of the 'Irrigation and Water Saving Technologies' laboratory at the Namangan Regional Center of the Scientific Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems. He holds the title of Associate Professor and has a candidate degree in agricultural sciences. Additionally, he serves as the head of the Andijan Regional Branch of the Amir Temur International Fund.
Khabib Siddiq is the author of books such as 'Kar Quloqqa Tambur', 'Kim Oshdi Savdosi', 'Bedawo Dardning Davosi', 'Inglizcha Tush', 'Chiroghi Yoniq Khonadon' (anthology), 'Nimkosa', 'Saylanma', and 'O'yindan O't Chiqdi'. He has also written collections of short stories 'Yaxshilar Ko'p Dunyoda', 'Labbay, Khojayin...', and publicistic articles 'Hayot Yo'lga O'xshaydi' and 'Vatandan Ayro Baxt Yo'q'.
His works have been published in Russian ('I Smekh, i Grekh', 2020), Kyrgyz ('Nymkese', 2022), 'American Neighbors' (2025), and Karakalpak ('Esim Qurysin', 2023).
The comedy 'The Talk Between Us' was staged at the Ogakhi Regional Theater in Khorezm, and the work 'Wonderful Happenings' was performed at the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan. More than twenty television miniatures based on his creative works have been filmed, including video films 'Chug', 'The Big Happening of a Small Enterprise', and 'Destinies.'
The works of many writers of different nationalities, including Khabib Siddiq, have become the spiritual heritage of Uzbek readers and viewers. His satires and humorous works have been translated into Russian, English, Turkish, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Karakalpak languages, finding an audience outside the country's borders.
Khabib Siddiq is a member of the 'Ma'rifat' Popularizers Society and possesses the medals 'Shuhrat' and the badge 'Ma'naviyat Fidoyisi'. According to Muhammadsiddik Rakhmatov, head of the literary propaganda and events department of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the book 'American Neighbors' was published in Kyrgyz in Bishkek by the 'Uluu Toolor' publishing house last year.
Kyrgyz and Uzbek poets, literary scholars, journalists, and literature enthusiasts participated in the presentation of this book at the A. Osmanov National Library of Kyrgyzstan. For this book, Khabib Siddiq was accepted as an honorary member of the Kyrgyz Writers' Union.
Thanks to many years of effective scientific, pedagogical, creative, organizational, and propaganda activities, Khabib Siddiq has gained recognition as an experienced educator, outstanding scientist, talented writer, playwright, translator, public figure, gentle mentor to youth, and demanding educator.
It is hoped that the next book published in the land of the brothers will receive approval from Kazakh readers in accordance with the decree of the head of state, thereby contributing to the strengthening of friendly relations.
As part of the state policy to improve the penal system, ensure human rights and freedoms, and create proper conditions for convicted and detained persons, large-scale reforms have been undertaken. These transformations are aimed not only at strengthening the material and technical base of institutions but also at implementing advanced digital solutions and international standards in this field.
In line with these goals, a new, modern building of the Central Investigative Prison, under the jurisdiction of the Department of Penal Execution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has been commissioned. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Toshpulatov, heads of state bodies for the protection of rights and legality, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, as well as members of LLC "Unicon.uz" and public representatives.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Court Robakhon Mahmudov, Prosecutor General Nigmatulla Yuldoshev, Minister of Justice Akbar Toshkulov, Minister of Emergency Situations Azizbek Ikromov, representative of the Ombudsman of the Supreme Council for Human Rights Feruza Eshmatova, representative of the Ombudsman of the Supreme Council for Children's Rights Surayyo Rahmonova, representatives of the Bar Association, and other responsible officials who familiarized themselves with the capabilities created in the institution.
It was particularly emphasized that this institution is an important step towards fulfilling the tasks set by the head of state, preserving human value, and operating in accordance with international law norms. The main function of the Central Investigative Prison is to detain individuals under investigation until a judicial decision is made in accordance with legislative requirements. Therefore, all conditions, security measures, and legal guarantees here have been carefully considered.
The commissioning of this modern facility, which fully complies with international standards, has allowed for the resolution of several existing problems. For example, the conditions for lawyers and investigators have been radically improved: the number of lawyer rooms has increased from 19 to 50, and investigative rooms from 6 to 25. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and the Bar Association, the "E-advokat" platform has been launched, allowing lawyers to schedule meetings with protected persons online.
In the traditional system, the right to defense was provided for 70–80 people per day, but thanks to the digital platform, this figure has increased to more than 150–200 people with 19 rooms. After the commissioning of 50 new rooms, it will be possible to organize meetings with lawyers for 500–600 people daily. The number of online courtrooms has been increased from 4 to 11, expanding the possibilities for remote conducting of investigative and judicial processes. Additionally, every institution now has the capability to provide notary services online.
The number of rooms for short visits with relatives of inmates has increased from 14 to 36, which has helped reduce tension and satisfy legitimate public demands. The integration of the "E-Mahkum" platform and the intelligent monitoring platform "Qal'a" into a unified information space has facilitated information exchange with 25 organizations, including electronic document exchange with courts and investigative bodies. The control system in the institution is fully automated; separate entrances and exits are provided for citizens, staff, and lawyers, completely eliminating the problem of daily queues. 55 cells have been allocated and equipped for minors and women with children in the investigative prisons in accordance with international standards.
For the convenience of relatives of persons in places of deprivation of liberty, the sending of parcels, banners, and flowers through an online store has been introduced into practice. In the new building, constructed according to international requirements, special attention has been paid to security and transparency. All rooms and passages are equipped with high-resolution video surveillance cameras and connected to a single centralized monitoring system, which strengthens the openness and security of the institution's operation. Guests were thoroughly presented with the mechanisms of operation of polling stations established on the territory of the institution, as well as the "Raqamli do'kon," "M-billing," and "Videouchrashuv" systems designed to meet the needs of inmates. These innovative solutions contribute to ensuring the legitimate rights of inmates, maintaining contact with their loved ones, and transitioning the service provision process to a modern format.
Kharamon Quronboev, Chairman of the Neighborhoods Society of Uzbekistan and head of the republican working group on studying youth issues, held a meeting with young people in Samarkand, Samarkand region.
The working group conducts research in areas of activity to further improve the system of working with youth in neighborhoods, based on the instructions and tasks given by the head of state during his meeting with the country's youth this year.
During the work of the working group in the Samarkand region, the group leader, Chairman of the Neighborhoods Society of Uzbekistan, K. Quronboev, held a meeting with young people in the city of Samarkand. This meeting took place in an atmosphere of openness and sincerity, during which the problems worrying the youth, as well as their suggestions and initiatives, were heard.

In particular, the youth of the Maroqand neighborhood in the city put forward an initiative to create a modern library in the neighborhood. After the meeting, Kharamon Quronboev visited the neighborhood to inspect the local infrastructure and assess the possibilities of creating a library.
In addition, during the conversation with activists, issues such as filling youth free time with meaningful content, increasing reading culture, effective use of existing opportunities in the neighborhood, and creating modern and comfortable conditions for young people were discussed.
