Savério Demaria, a representative of TIM, stated that the company will cautiously approach the inclusion of artificial intelligence subscriptions in its telephony packages, aiming to avoid what he calls the 'unlimited WhatsApp error.'
Demaria emphasized that TIM does not want to replicate the unlimited WhatsApp model, as that previous offer complicated the operator's ability to generate revenue. Although the two largest competitors are already exploring formats with access to AI subscriptions, TIM has not yet announced plans with this integration.
TIM's caution comes after the operator reformed its Control plans, removing WhatsApp from items that do not use the main data allowance. Demaria commented that the application 'was a business that was here to stay and, unfortunately, we could not monetize that model,' as reported by the Telesíntese portal.
On another front, Thompson Gomes, TIM's head of marketing, presented the TIM Controle Fit plan. This new package focuses on providing a greater amount of internet without depending on unlimited social media. The TIM Controle Fit offers 30 GB for R$ 30 monthly (with annual commitment) or 20 GB for R$ 35 (monthly format), which is significantly cheaper than the TIM Controle Social Networks offer, which was the most affordable option among the main ones.
However, this new plan excludes the benefits of free access to WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok within the allowance. Official documentation confirmed by Tecnoblog indicates that these packages do not have traffic exemption for these platforms.
Additionally, during the presentation of second-quarter results, Alberto Griselli, TIM's CEO, addressed the corporate landscape. He guaranteed that the plan established for 2026 will be maintained, even if there is a possibility of Poste Italiane re-nationalizing the company. The Italian postal service presented a proposal of R$ 80 billion for the controlling stake of Telecom Italia, which owns the Brazilian operation. Despite this, Griselli stressed that strengthening the parent company could generate local advantages, mentioning that Poste considered the Brazilian subsidiary a 'gem.'
The North Cape Police leadership issued a statement denying messages circulating on social media via the WhatsApp messenger. These messages contained allegations against a high-ranking police official, claiming he demanded payment for the disappearance of criminal cases.
The WhatsApp messages concerned Lieutenant General Luntu Ngubelangu, Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection. The Commissioner's office stated the need to dispel misunderstandings and confirm that all claims in the circulating messages are false and lack factual basis.
The Commissioner's office emphasized that 'Lieutenant General Ngubelangu did not demand or request any payments in exchange for processing, withdrawing, or any other action related to a criminal case.'
The North Cape Police strongly condemned the spread of false and misleading information aimed at undermining the reputation and integrity of senior police officials, as well as reducing public trust in the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Police leadership urged citizens to exercise caution and refrain from forwarding or sharing unverified messages on social media. It was noted that spreading false data can cause unnecessary anxiety and lead to serious consequences for those falsely accused.
Furthermore, SAPS North Cape stressed that any suspicions of corruption, extortion, or criminal behavior involving a police officer must be brought to the relevant law enforcement agencies for proper investigation.
The police stated they would not allow attempts to undermine the authority of the organization or its members by spreading malicious and unfounded information. Police reported that appropriate measures would be considered against individuals responsible for creating and disseminating defamatory content, provided there is sufficient evidence.
At the same time, the police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in fulfilling constitutional duties. Any person with credible information about alleged criminal behavior is advised to contact the relevant authorities instead of spreading unverified accusations on social media.
On Wednesday, the 22nd, WhatsApp announced a set of updates that expands the application's presence across various platforms, from vehicle multimedia systems to the iPad.
For those who are driving, the major highlight is the redesign of the 'Zap' experience on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. This change aims to simplify the use of the application without requiring the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel, especially when dealing with voice messages.
With the new functionality, the driver can listen to and reply to voice messages directly on the car screen, in addition to listening to audio, making and receiving calls, checking call history, and accessing favorite contacts—all in a completely hands-free mode, without needing to touch the device. Meta, the company that owns the application, has as its main objective to reduce the need to manipulate the phone while driving.
According to WhatsApp, these features were initiated this Wednesday (22nd) and will be gradually implemented in the coming days, meaning the availability of the new features will not be immediate for all users. It is important to note that the vehicle experience depends on the car being compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
In addition to the automotive improvements, three new features have been introduced. The first allows creating a WhatsApp account directly on the Apple iPad, eliminating the need to link a mobile phone to the tablet.
The second feature is integration with Adobe Acrobat. On WhatsApp Web and the desktop version, users can view PDF files within conversations without having to download them, allowing for light edits, such as underlining parts or adding annotations. However, to use the most advanced features, an Acrobat Pro subscription is required, which costs R$ 55 monthly.
Finally, a music sharing function was added, which facilitates sending tracks from Spotify or Apple Music directly to the Status, allowing contacts to know what the user is listening to.
Nissan Kait owners now have the option to get information about the car using WhatsApp, supported by artificial intelligence. This feature, which was already available for the new Kicks, has been extended to the Kait, both SUVs manufactured by the automaker in Resende, Rio de Janeiro.
Nissan is gradually replacing physical manuals, which are often left forgotten in the glove compartment. Through the official Nissan chatbot on WhatsApp, accessible at the number (24) 99983-2984, the user can type questions and receive answers extracted directly from the official manual content.
This access is made through the main menu, in sections designated as 'My Nissan' or 'Models', allowing consultation of technical specifications, understanding car functionalities, or identifying the meaning of lights illuminated on the dashboard.
The functionality goes beyond simple text, as the assistant can process both audio and images. Thus, it is possible to send a photograph for the system to explain what it represents. The development of this tool was carried out in collaboration with Blip, a conversational intelligence platform, which locates answers in real time.
This innovation aligns with Nissan's plan to modernize customer service. The brand has been operating in Brazil since the year 2000 and recently completed an investment cycle of R$ 2.8 billion in the Resende factory, responsible for producing the Kait, Kicks, and engines for national models. For those who prefer the conventional method, the option remains to download the complete manual in PDF format through the same menu.
