ITC Hotels Ltd, a major player in the hospitality sector, announced on Tuesday the signing of an agreement to manage the new Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels in Rajgir. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary.
Development of Bihar's Tourism Potential
This hotel will be implemented as part of a long-term partnership between the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation and Kalsi Buildcon Pvt Ltd. The goal of this project is to promote Bihar as an attractive tourist destination. The proposed hotel will cover an area of 2.67 acres and will feature 107 rooms.

Anil Chadha, Manager of ITC Hotels, noted that Bihar is home to some of India's most significant cultural and spiritual centers, and the company sees enormous long-term potential for developing hospitality-based tourism. He emphasized that the opening of Welcomhotel Rajgir confirms the company's commitment to expanding its presence in Bihar. According to him, travelers are increasingly seeking authentic experiences alongside the hotel services of renowned brands, and ITC Hotels expects to contribute to the development of Bihar's tourism concept.
Sumit Singh Kalsi, Director of Kalsi Buildcon Pvt Ltd, expressed delight at collaborating with ITC Hotels to introduce the Welcomhotel brand in Rajgir, Bihar. He considers Rajgir an attractive location for creating a world-class hotel due to its deep historical significance. The company intends to create an iconic property that reflects the spirit of the region and meets modern traveler demands while utilizing the recognized service quality of ITC Hotels.
Expansion of Presence in the Region
The hospitality giant also stated in a release that this agreement, along with the recent opening of ITC Patna hotel and the launch of Welcomhotel Bodhgaya Hotel & Convention Centre, further strengthens ITC Hotels' position in Bihar.
