The first day of the 'WR Chess Rapid & Blitz' team competition between Uzbek and US chess teams in Miami, USA, has concluded.
Rapid Competition Results
Four rounds were held in the rapid segment of the first day. In the first round, the Ocean side team achieved a victory over the Uzbek chess players with a score of 2.5:1.5. In this round, the matches between Jawhir Sindorov – Hikaru Nakamura, Nodirbek Abdusattorov – Fabiano Caruana, and Shamsiddin Vohidov – Lener Dominguez Perez on the fourth board ended in draws. Only the game between Muhiddin Madaminov and Wesley So on the third board was also a draw.
Second and Third Rounds
The second round resulted in a 2:2 score. In this match, Abdusattorov drew against Caruana, Sindorov resigned to Nakamura, Vohidov lost to So, and Yoqubboev split points with Levon Aronian. In the third round, despite Nodirbek Abdusattorov achieving a single victory and Yoqubboev recording a draw, the team could not avoid defeat. The result of this round was 2.5:1.5.
Decisive Round and Final Scores
In the decisive fourth round of the competition, our team defeated the US team with a score of 2.5:1.5, thanks to the victories of Jawhir Sindorov and Nodirbek Abdusattorov. At the end of the rapid competitions, the US team had 8.5 points on the boards, while the Uzbek chess players had 7.5 points.
