Royal Enfield announced a significant change to its motorcycle service program in Brazil during Motorcycle Day, held this Monday, the 27th. Starting from this date, the first service for the brand's models will be performed at 1,000 km, accompanied by a considerable reduction in the cost of these periodic maintenances, reaching up to 34% for most vehicles.
This new policy is valid for all customers who received their motorcycles starting from Motorcycle Day, July 27th. Owners who acquired vehicles before this date continue to follow the previous schedule, although under similar standards.
The central point of the update is the increase in the interval for the first maintenance, which was previously scheduled at 500 km. This former frequency generated dissatisfaction among consumers because it required an early return to the dealership. Furthermore, the brand was the only one in Brazil to impose such a short interval for this service.
Along with the mileage increase, there was a decrease in the costs of scheduled services. The Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, and Classic 650 models showed the largest drop, reaching 34%. The Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 motorcycles were also benefited, registering a 32% reduction in their service plans.
In a press conference, the executive director of Royal Enfield Brazil, Gabriel Patini, explained that the decision to increase the mileage and reduce prices resulted from extensive engineering studies and tests. He emphasized that the company has listened to the demands of both customers and dealerships, which positively influenced this change.
Patini stated in an official note that, when evaluating the total cost of ownership of a motorcycle, the scheduled service plays a crucial role. According to him, the new plan makes the experience of owning a Royal Enfield more attractive, whether for daily use or for travel and leisure.
Royal Enfield guaranteed that there were no technical modifications to the motorcycles, not even in the composition of lubricating oils. The update was made possible by research and engineering, allowing the period between oil changes in the first service to be extended. For the price reduction, the optimization of the service plan was considered essential.
The new service scheme will be implemented on all brand-new Royal Enfield motorcycles delivered from July 27, 2026. Additionally, units delivered from July 1, 2026, will also be included in the new plan, provided they have not undergone the first service under the old 500 km or 45-day regime.
Royal Enfield announced the arrival of the Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts in the Brazilian market, a limited edition resulting from a collaboration with the Taiwanese customizer Rough Crafts. This exclusive model will be offered for R$ 60,990, and pre-orders will open between July 27th and 30th.
The established price represents a significant increase of R$ 25,500 when compared to the conventional top-of-the-line Shotgun 650, which costs approximately R$ 35,490 in Brazil. This increase corresponds to almost 71.85%, despite the motorcycle maintaining its standard mechanical setup.
Globally, only 100 numbered units will be manufactured. Of these, only 25 will be allocated to the Americas, distributed among Brazil, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina. Distribution will follow the order of reservation of the first buyers.
From a technical point of view, the Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts has no changes compared to the series version. It continues to use the 648 cc parallel twin engine, which generates 47 hp of power and 5.3 kgfm of torque, coupled with a six-speed gearbox. The chassis, suspension systems, brakes, and handling are kept exactly the same as those of the common Shotgun 650.
The distinctions between the models are entirely concentrated on the design and the materials used. The special edition features an exclusive paint job that mixes glossy black and matte black, complemented by gold leaf details inspired by the Caliber Royale concept motorcycle, designed by Rough Crafts. Other differences include a brass partnership emblem, leather-upholstered seat, rearview mirrors positioned at the ends of the handlebars, diamond-finished alloy wheels, and gold tubes on the front suspension.
Additionally, each vehicle has a unique number engraved on the tank, underlining its limited edition status. Buyers will also receive a numbered illustration signed by Winston Yeh, founder of Rough Crafts and originator of the project that spawned this special series.
Rough Crafts is globally recognized as one of the most reputable motorcycle customizers. Founded in Taiwan by Winston Yeh, the company gained notoriety for adapting models from various brands, such as Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Indian, and Royal Enfield, transforming them into unique projects characterized by minimalist lines, sophisticated finishing, and a strong visual identity.
The motorcycle that served as inspiration for this limited edition was the Caliber Royale, which was initially presented as a concept at EICMA 2025 and later exhibited at Motoverse 2025. While the concept featured substantial modifications to the bodywork, proportions, and structural elements, the commercial version preserves most of the original structure of the Shotgun 650, incorporating only the aesthetic inspired by this project.
Royal Enfield's approach follows a known pattern in the collectibles market: pricing scarcity rather than performance. In this context, the Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts is justified by its rarity, with only 100 units produced globally, all numbered and linked to a prestigious customizer, including gold application.
However, for daily use, the financial justification is more complex, given that the buyer invests over R$ 25 thousand without obtaining improvements in performance, technology, safety, or handling; the price difference resides solely in exclusivity, special finishes, and potential collection value.
The purchase will take place in two phases. First, registrations for the pre-order will be open on the Royal Enfield hotsite between July 15th and 28th, at 9 am (Brasília time). Then, the actual pre-order will begin on July 28th, at 11 am (Brasília time). Due to the extreme limitation of units, it is expected that stock will sell out quickly.
Even with the high cost of the x Rough Crafts version, the mechanical base is identical to the standard Shotgun 650. This bike is equipped with a 648 cc air and oil-cooled parallel twin engine, which delivers 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 5.3 kgfm of torque at 5,650 rpm, always combined with a six-speed gearbox and oil-bath multi-disc clutch.
The handling has also not changed: it features a steel tubular chassis, a Showa inverted front fork suspension with 120 mm travel, and two rear Showa shock absorbers adjustable by preload. The brakes are disc on both wheels (320 mm in the front and 300 mm in the rear), both with a two-channel ABS system. Among the features are the mixed panel (analog and digital), the Tripper navigator with mobile connectivity, full LED lighting, and a USB-A port. The Shotgun 650 weighs 240 kg in running order, has a 13.8-liter tank, declares an average consumption of 22 km/l, and offers an estimated range of 303 km—figures replicated in the special edition, confirming that the price variation is due exclusively to the finish and exclusivity of the model.
