A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev, held talks in Kabul with Mawlawi Ahmadjon Bilal, the head of the Administration of State Corporations of Afghanistan. The parties discussed possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation, investment projects, and industrial interaction.
The Governor of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, also participated in the meeting. He stated the region's interest in strengthening trade and economic ties with Afghanistan, as well as in implementing joint investment and industrial projects.
Special attention was paid to proposals from Green Infrastructure Investments Group LLC from the Yaziawan district of the Fergana Region. Plans were outlined for launching the production of smart electricity meters in Afghanistan, implementing modern management systems in the energy sector, and expanding cooperation in the field of information technology.
The Administration of State Corporations of Afghanistan is responsible for coordinating the activities of state corporations, managing state property, financial and operational oversight, and implementing privatization processes. Since 2022, the agency has been conducting a program for reforming state enterprises and corporations.
As part of its activities, the administration helps state enterprises attract financing, implement new equipment and technologies, increase production capacity, and improve the qualifications of managers. Additionally, the agency participates in socially significant infrastructure projects. It also implements projects in areas such as mining, production of building materials and cement, telecommunications, fiber optic communication, and agriculture. The administration supports trade and industrial cooperation, production and export, exhibitions, professional training, and local entrepreneurship development.
The Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, met with Ryuichi Kizumi, CEO of the Japanese architectural and engineering company Nikken Sekkei. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation opportunities in the fields of architectural design and urban development.
The main focus of the negotiations was on the application of modern engineering solutions in the implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan. The parties noted the significant potential of using the experience of the Japanese company to develop the design of social and transport infrastructure.
Representatives of Nikken Sekkei confirmed their readiness to participate in creating architectural concepts for public, transport, and social facilities, as well as to provide support in transferring advanced design technologies. At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to maintain close interaction and jointly develop specific proposals for projects.
The Chairman of the Uzeltekhsanoat Association, Mirziyod Yunusov, held negotiations with the head of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Vitebsk administration, Mikhail Skurat. The discussion took place within the framework of the III Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The parties focused on effectively utilizing the opportunities of free economic zones, implementing joint investment projects, and developing industrial interaction between enterprises of both countries.
During the meeting, information was presented about the possibilities of FEZ Vitebsk, which was established in 1999. Currently, this free economic zone includes 17 sectors covering a total area of 2425 hectares. The total volume of investments attracted by its residents has reached almost 1.4 billion US dollars.
It was noted that 53 investment projects with capital from 11 countries are currently being implemented in the FEZ. Enterprises located in the zone provide employment for over 16,000 people. Investors are provided with tax and customs benefits, engineering infrastructure is created, and access to the markets of Europe and the Eurasian Economic Union is guaranteed thanks to the developed transport and logistics network.
Following the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial partnership, expanding practical cooperation, and continuing work on new joint projects.
The Hokim of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with a delegation from the Malaysian company Orientex Synergy Sdn Bhd. The delegation was headed by Chief Executive Officer Mohd Hafiz bin Sharifuddin. The parties discussed concrete steps for implementing joint investment projects in the housing construction sector.
The delegation's visit was a continuation of agreements reached during the official trip of the Hokim of the Fergana Region to Malaysia from June 1 to 3, 2026. During this trip, cooperation plans for building modern residential complexes in the region were agreed upon.
During the negotiations, Khayrullo Bozorov noted the high level of development of the Malaysian construction sector. He emphasized that in Uzbekistan, including the Fergana Region, programs are actively being implemented to create modern apartment buildings to meet the growing demand for housing.
Representatives of Orientex Synergy stated that the goal of their visit is to conduct a detailed study of current construction sites, assess promising plots, and determine directions for further interaction.
The Fergana Region expressed its readiness to provide the delegation with the opportunity to examine land plots proposed for construction, areas included in the urban renewal program, as well as modern residential complexes. Specialists will be appointed to assist investors in project implementation.
After the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work on preparing and implementing investment projects, as well as developing long-term cooperation in the construction industry.
